Chapter 7
After the film we went down the road to Pizza Express.
“It’s so weird we’re here.”
“Why?” Aaron asked.
I ran a hand through my hair, “It’s kind of stupid but when I was younger I always used to imagine my first date would be in Pizza Express…. Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I forgot, ‘cos you’re this super sexy girl who talks about how she hates relationships, that you weren’t always like that.”
“Ah yes the period of my life when I wasn’t screwed up.”
“Maybe I still like the screwed up Anais.”
“At least someone does.”
“What Liddy did was really pathetic, do you want me to talk to her?”
“No. I don’t know what I’m going to do with her though. I can’t believe she did this though. It’s so out of proportion to the argument.”
“What were you arguing about?”
“You. Kind of.”
He nodded. “What was said?”
“You’ll think I’m a bitch if I tell you what I said to her.”
“Try me.”
“She called me a whore for… y’know in the bathroom when we met so I told her there was no such thing as love and insulted her boyfriend because he has never made her come.”
“From what I remember we have no problem on that front.”
“No. But we may want to check later. Just to be sure.” I winked and smiled as Aaron’s face lit up.
“So, you don’t think there’s such thing as love.”
“No. I’ve never seen it. It’s like just biology and stuff.”
“Just because you’ve never experienced it doesn’t make it not real. Maybe one day there will be someone.”
“I’m getting the impression you’re a bit of a romantic.”
“You could say that.”
The waitress came over and took our orders before leaving us again.
“So you’re like fluent in french.”
I nodded. “I haven’t spoken it in years though.”
“A lot of the guys on the team are french,”
“Really? So you’re all from like different places?”
“Yeah, got someone from everywhere.”
“Wow, that must be interesting.”
“Did you travel much when you were younger?”
I shook my head, “With my Mum we never had enough money and my Dad… didn’t want to take me with him. I’ve never been anywhere which isn’t England or France.”
“Ever been to Wales?”
“I read on you wiki you were Welsh! No, I’ve never been.”
“You went on my Wikipedia?”
I blushed and Aaron laughed.
“Learn anything else interesting?”
“If I remember rightly your birthday is on boxing day.”
