Memories to Ashes
It's always darkest just before the light
A relevant difference from morning to night
The increasing space between past and future
Memories fading to an eroding picture
Fading, floating, evaporating into thin air
Forgotten as if no one ever even cared
Gone within a blink, no time to even think
Like the Titanic, unexpectedly sink
We're gone without a thought, all for naught
Hoping to be remembered, but "I forgot"
Is all we can say, our perfect excuse
Repeated over and over, like violent abuse
What's the point, eventually we'll all be gone
So why should we wait for the beauty of dawn?
