Case 028: Murder or Suicide? (Part 2)👮

"Ako po ba?"

"Yes, gusto ko lang itanong kong anong oras ka lumabas ng opisina ng biktima?"

"Hindi naman po ako nagtagal sa
loob. After I put the pizza on the table, I told him po to sign the receipt and kinuha niya po 'yong bayad sa closet niya at inabot sa akin."

"Sa tigin mo anong oras ka nga lumabas sa opisina ng biktima?"

Delivery boys are the ones who is very observant with their time. Kailangan nilang umabot sa oras at ma-deliver ang items nila, if they failed to do so, the company will charg the fee of the item and deduct it to their salary.

But the delivery boy in front of him seems untrained. Nag-isip pa ito at tila nagkalkula ng oras sa utak. Naghintay ang binata sa kaharap at sa tantsiya niya ay inabot ito ng dalawang minuto bago nakasagot.

"2:59 po?" he took two minutes to answer and still, he doesn't sure of his answer.

"Are you sure?"

"Opo,"

"Are you really sure?"

The delivery boy rub the back of his neck in confusion. "Sa totoo po hindi ko na napansin ang eksaktong oras. Ang importante naman po sa amin maideliver 'yong item sa tamang oras 'di na po kasama doon kung anong oras kami makakabalik sa shop,"

Another flawed to his alibi, he should check first if he deliver the item on time when he reached the victim's office. Wala naman sa usapan ang pagbalik niya sa sa shop nila.

"Pero sinabi mo kanina sigurado ka?"

The suspect is changing his statement as seconds pass by that's make more confusing. "Sorry po, hindi ko na po napansin 'yong oras."

Katahimikan ang namayani sa mga sumunod na sandali.

"Pwede na ba namin malaman kung sino ang pumatay nang makaalis na rin kami?" Dinig nila ang sigaw sa labas ng general manager na isa sa mga suspects.

"Inspector, nagwawala na po 'yong general manager sa labas. Sinaway ko po pero ang kulit eh!" pagsusumbong ni Kath.

"Sige, palabas na 'ko," tumingin ang binata sa kaharap at nakuha naman nito ang ibig niyang sabibin.

Lumabas ang binata at hinarap ang matandang general manager na kanina pa hindi makapaghintay. "I tell you who killed the victim, so we can all go back to our works."

The man cleared his throat and nodded. "Mabuti pa nga."

"It's you!"

Lahat ay natahimik sa tinuran niya. Ang lalaking itinuro ay hindi makapaniwala at tinuro ang sarili. "Ako po?"

Nasa kanya ang atensyon ng lahat at walang sinuman ang makapagsalita. Lahat sila ay nahihintay sa sabihin niya.

Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images or urges that trigger intensely distressing feelings

Isa sa mga pinagbasehan niya ang ang pagkakatali nito sa pizza. He also noticed the lace of his shoes, he tied it triple times at itinali pa sa mismong paa nito. But ironically, his belt loosen, one indication that he remove it.

Ang delivery boy ang tinutukoy ng binata.

"You came in his office at 2:54 and come at 3:33 pm," Alejandro took a deep breath. "Ang sabi mo hindi ka nagtagal sa loob at lumabas ng 2:59 after mabayaran ang pizza  but the CCTV footage shows otherwise, kitang-kita naman na 3:33 ka lumabas. Ibig-sabihin tumagal ka ng 39 minutes sa loob. Pumasok ka ng 2:54, nilapag ang pizza pagkatapos ay sinakal ang biktima, napahiga siya sa sahig dahil sa hindi inaasahang pag-atake mo, few seconds namatay na rin siya. You leave him lying on the floor while looking for a rope to tie him up. The forensic examiner just call me and they found his livor mortis on the back of his legs. I assume na inabot ka ng 20-30 minutes sa paghahanap ng panali kasingtagal ng pagkakahiga niya sa sahig. Technically 20-30 minutes after a person dies, nag-oocur ang livor mortis pero makikita lang ang bakas after 2 hours. 3:39 when our office received a call from High Tower but because of the heavy traffic, inabot kami halos dalawang oras. Sapat na 'yon para makita kung may bakas sa paa niya, but when I checked it, wala naman. Kaya sigurado akong hindi siya sa ganoong posisyon namatay." Alejandro took a deep breath for a second time. "Now, may I see your palm?"

The delivery boy showed his palm to everyone. His hands were shaking and lips are trembling.

Alejandro move a little closer at hinawakan ang kamay ng lalaki "A pink or red palm indicates that a person has been carrying something heavy by a handle or handhold within the past few minutes." he cleared his throat as he check the man's palm. May gasgas din ito at amoy leather— amoy belt! "Anong hinawakan mo sa nakalipas na ilang minuto?"

"Pizza lang po!"

"Galing ka ba sa banyo bago a pumunta dito?"

"Hindi po!" Umiiling na sagot nito

"But your belt seems loose, hindi mo ba ito hinubad?"

From a distance Alejandro clearly saw the man's adam's apple bobbing up and down.

"Can I have you belt?"

Naguguluhan man binigay ng lalaki ang belt sa pulis. Hinawakan iyon ni Alejandro at sinuri.

"The evidence lies here, If we saw the victim's fingerprints or any specimen here, tulad ng laway... you'll be in jail!"

Sinakal ang biktima gamit ang belt kaya 'di malayong natuluan iyon ng laway at nanlaban din ito kaya naman malamang ay hinawakan nito ang belt ng suspect na siyang ginamit pangsakal dito.

"Hindi pa tapos, I saw a blood on his nails, maaaring nanlaban siya habang sinasakal mo siya kaya naman kinalmot ka niya. Now, can you pull off your sleeves and show us your forearms?"

Hindi sinunod ng lalaki ang sinabi ni Alejandro. Akala niya ay mag-dedeny pa ito pero nagulat silang lahat nang biglang umiyak ang lalaki at sumalampak sa sahig. His last words confirmed that Alejandro's deductions are true. "Sorry po... hindi ko po sinasadya, Ayaw ko rin ng sakit na 'to!"

"The suspect admitted to enjoying the sensation of strangling someone or tying something. He admitted enjoying the feeling of domination," Alexis said.

"Dahil lang gusto niya pinatay niya 'yong biktima kahit hindi naman niya ito kilala?" tanong ni Dave.

"He's sick Dave, kaya niya nagawa 'yon."

"There something urged him to do that, kasi nga may sakit siya." Dave nodded.

Sakto na ang biktima ang nasa harap niya nang umatake ang sakit nito.

"So, this case is closed?" Dave asked.

Yes, probably, but the case to find Sombreno's killer is far away from being close.
