Encre's P.O.V

It was growing towards night and I still wonder how Fallacy was doing. I would always look up towards the moon to see if it turned blood red but so far it hasn't. It seemed like I might be staying another night here at the pack.

I decided to stroll around since I didn't know which way was what. I had to remember land marks. I always wanted to stay prepared so in any situation I can take care of myself. I just need to keep my mouth in control because I say anything that comes to mind, which is how I become a smart mouth.

I kicked at some dirt and a few rocks as I walked around. Every member kept giving me small glares or the younger ones would quickly look away. They all acted like I was some sort of plague. As if I could be the end of them.

All of the looks gave me a sort of chill. I was uncomfortable and clearly unwanted here, but I wasn't going to let that stop me. I went farther into the woods and soon was away from the glares and sneers of everyone. Red did tell me that they didn't like outsiders.

This part of the woods were more vicious. The weeds and overgrowth seemed as if they were grabbing for you. It was almost scary. The twined vines seeming to want to slither around your arms and drag you up into the tree's for whatever fate awaited for you up there. I shivered. I was getting ahead of myself and thinking the worse possible things. I shouldn't. What good would that do?

Crack!

I froze in place. Was that a stick? That sounded like someone tried to snap a tree in half.

Crack!

My gaze went around the woods as I tried to look past the rows upon rows of tree's that were scattered about. Was I just hearing things? I don't believe I was.

Out of nowhere I heard the sound of an animal in distress. The small cries and the sound of bucking caught my attention and I turned towards it. Close behind me was the sight of a deer caught up in the arms of something I never knew existed.

It had a distorted nose that seemed crooked from being broke for so many times and never treated, it's skin was dry and patched, and it almost looked more animal then anything else.

The thing snapped the deer's neck and blood gurgled from its mouth. My eyes wide with shock and absolute terror as I dove behind a tree.

Please don't see me...

Please don't see me...

I kept repeating this over and over in my mind, but as I watched it I noticed that it wasn't paying any attention to me.

This is my chance!

I tried to ease out from behind the tree and back towards the glaring eyes of the pack. I'd rather be there then with this thing.

What is that thing?

I knew that it wasn't normal...or friendly by the looks of it. And I was definitely not going to try to talk to it. That was out of the question unless I wanted to just go ahead and risk killing myself for no apparent reason.

As I tried to slowly tip toe away my leg got caught in a vine and I went down falling into a bed of thorns. Where did the thorns come from? I have absolutely no idea. But I fell hard into it. I could feel the thorns prick my arms and legs as they drew blood. I bit my tongue to stay silent but it was already too late that creature heard me already.

I heard the creature snort as it threw down the deer into a crumbled heap on the ground before it began to stomp it's way towards me.

I internally panicked and tried to rip off the thorns even if they tore into my hands. But while I tore the thorns away from me I could feel warm breath hit the back of my neck and a bit of my arms.

At that point I turned my head slowly behind me and had the gigantic sight of the thing looking down at me with some of the deer blood dripping from it's mouth. I wanted to scream but nothing came out of my mouth.

The only thing I could say was, "W-what are you?"

The thing just kept looking down at me like a curious animal with it's head tilted. We were just like that for a good ten minutes just staring at each other like complete morons but what else was I going to do? This was better than my neck getting snapped and eaten byt his thing.....

My mind went back to what Fallacy told me about trolls.

Trolls....

I tried to talk but at first my voice sounded rusty and scared, "A-are...Are you a troll?" I questioned.

The thing showed it's sharp teeth to me in a snarl like it disliked the name. As if it hated being called a troll.

"I-I'm sorry! We c-can call you something else!" I shouted in a hurry.

It still showed it's teeth but it didn't do anything else. I was so scared I thought I might pee my pants.I was that scared!

The troll reached out and caught me in it's hands like it did the deer and that was when I thought my fate would be with that dead deer. My heart beat quicked as my blood rushed through my veins.

I can't die like this!

My breathing became out of control. I tried to kick and scream like that once before distressed deer, but it didn't work for the deer so why would it work for me? I bent my head down when it tried to grab my neck and I bit down on the thumb as hard as I could. The Troll let out a cry of pain as it dropped me onto he forests ground.

I took this chance to scramble up from the ground and took off running. This was only luck. That's all it was and I was going to take that chance to run for an escape.

The troll let out an ear piercing roar that I was sure the pack heard. I threw the leaves and slashed at the branches with my hands. The toll was running behind me.

"Red!" I screamed.
