I grabbed Max's arm and we walked out the door.

"So what kind of ring are you thinking about?" I looked over at Max once she finished her sentence.

"Well engagement ring obviously, secondly I'm thinking maybe something simple, maybe silver or just a regular diamond, nothing extra." Max nodded and laid her head on my shoulder.

We turned a corner and Max let out a squeal and pointed.

"Issa puppy! Look at it!" I laughed and nodded.

I looked in the direction of the puppy and saw how it was very small.

I got close to her ear and whispered, "I see the puppy babygirl, and I get that you're excited but calm down and try to use your indoor voice." Max looked over and slowly nodded.

I gave her a small kiss on the cheek and pulled her tighter against me.

Max looked up and I could feel her get a little tense.

"Something wrong baby?" Max looked a little hesitant but shook her head.

We walked maybe another twenty feet and got to a busy intersection. Max pressed the walk button and relaxed against me.

Traffic went back and forth but slowed and soon ceased and we walked across the street.

I looked around and found the jeweler store. I grinned big and guided Max inside.

Max looked around in astonishment at the store.

I looked at Max and gave her a kiss on the neck.

"Never seen this kind of store before have you?" Max shook her head and seemed a bit scared to be in the store.

We walked over to the counter and the man behind smiled.

"Hello, what can I do for you two today?" I smiled and pointed towards the vast assortment of rings.

"We are looking for an engagement ring" the man smiled and nodded. He opened the little case below him and pulled out a tray.

"Okay so these are the engagement rings I have in stock as of right now, the next shipment isn't until next weekend." I nodded and looked at the rings.

"In case you're wondering the lowest priced ring is around eight-hundred dollars while the most expensive is around five-thousand dollars" I looked at Max and saw her eyes wide.

I smiled to myself and pointed towards the ring with the somewhat biggest diamond.

"how much is this one?", The man picked it up and held it towards the light, "This one is three-thousand four hundred and twenty dollars".

I nodded and saw Max look at me.

Max went to speak but I interrupted her.

"Don't give me the 'Its too expensive stuff', nothing is too expensive for my baby" Max seemed lost from my words.

I thought for a second but then decided.

"Yeah that's the one." the man nodded and turned around to grab one of the small ring boxes.

He brought the ring over and motioned for Max's hand, she slowly brought it up and he did the needed measurements needed.

Once he was done I grabbed my check book and wrote the check out for three-thousand four hundred and twenty dollars.
