Second First Date (part 2)

"Of course we can. But why."

"I, personally, will never forget this. Just like I'll never forget our first date. This is like our second first date. So I'll never forget it. Ever. I promise you that." She smiled at me and took a deep breath. She was trying so hard not to cry.

"But I want pictures. I want to show our mom's. And Candice and Joe. And Paul and Phoebe. Because you did this beautiful thing for me. And I want them to see it." She smiled at me and I kissed her.

"We can definitely take pictures baby. But after that phones on go on parents and siblings only for the night. Deal?"

"Deal my love." She said.

We both took out our phones and started taking pictures. I couldn't help but take pictures of her. She had such a beautiful smile on her face. And she was glowing. I couldn't help myself.

We sat down at the table and started eating our food. We talked about everything and nothing.
And it was perfect.
We drank our wine and and just got relaxed.

"I have one more surprise for you. Are you up for it?" I asked her.

"Something else? Really? In definitely up for it babe. But you didn't have to do anything else. This is enough." She smiled and reached over for my hand.

"Well I did." I said. I stood up and held my hand out for her to take.
She reached for my hand and I lead her outside to the patio.

My dad and I had put the lights all around and candles so there was beautiful soft lighting. There was beautiful light shining down from the moon and the sky was clear and full of beautiful stars.

Nina glowed in the light. I had a mix CD that we had made full of our favorite songs playing.

"Ian this is so perfect. And so beautiful." She said.

"I'm glad you like it baby. I'm glad you like everything tonight."

"I've loved all of it baby."

Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran was starting and I reached out for her.

"Would you dance with me love?" I asked as she placed her soft hand in mine.

"I'd love to." She said stepping into me.

I pulled her close to me and held onto her. I didn't want there to be any space between us.
I wrapped my arm around her and rested it on her lower back while holding her hand.
She rested hand on my upper arm and was smiling up at me.

"Tonight has been amazing babe. Honestly. Everything was set up so beautifully. I'm really enjoying this." She smiled.

"I'm so glad baby. I just wanted you to be happy. And I just needed you to know how I was feeling and that...." I kinda trailed off.

"Needed me to know what baby?" She asked looking concerned and scared.
I took a minute to reply.

"Hey Ian. You can tell me anything. I mean that. You can talk to me about anything."
I could hear the nervousness in her voice. And I could see how scared she was. And I hated it. I hated that she had so much doubt and fear about us. And about me. It made me feel horrible. And I can only imagine how it was making her feel.
