usually, after you listen to a song, you get what they call 'last song syndrome' and it's so common and it can literally happen every day until you grow tired of that song and hate it and move on to the next, but living in a world where you find your soulmate through the song that is stuck in your mind is quite hard.

me being me, i listen to a song then if i don't find my soulmate then i move on to the next song.

it's quite harrowing when you sing the song in your head and when someone sings the lyrics, you have hope that it's them, but then you listen to the lyrics and it's not the song that you were thinking.

i flopped on the bed and groaned out loud in frustration. "i'm so tired of this soulmate song thing," i say, my voice muffled by the covers of the bed. "well, you're impatient and want to find 'the one' when you're like 18," my best friend, chandler says as he reviews and corrects his new track in his laptop.

i lift my head from the covers and glare at him. "i'm turning 19 in a month!" chandler laughs and ruffles my hair. "you're still 18." i groan out loud again and bury my head in the bed covers as chandler laughs out loud.

"don't act like you don't want to find your soulmate, chan! i know you want to."

chandler sighs and directs his attention towards me. "yeah, i do want to find them—"

"then let's go! we can go to the—"

"but there are more important things than that, like for example, my music and i want it to happen when it happens, you know?"

i can't help but agree with him. he does have a point. plus, it's better if it was unexpected.

i pout and brought out my laptop and my headphones and watched 'the greatest showman' (i watched the movie with my class the other day and it's so good omg i loveeee it), whilst chandler continues to focus on his music.

the first scene comes up where hugh jackman and the cast sing 'the greatest show' is playing and i can't help, but move with the song. i must've been so focused on the music that before the chorus plays, chandler screams, "oH, THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW!"

my jaw drops to the floor and i look at him with wide eyes. "w-what?" i ask. he notices me staring and looks at me weirdly. "what?" he asks, confused.

i turned my laptop around, so he could see the screen and once he did, his expression matched mine.

"w-wait, so that means you're my—"

"i-i'm your—"

when we realize what it meant, we both screamed and ran away.
