_bethany_grace_I heard a preacher say that unless we get our toes stepped on, we'll never move.
I hope I can crush some feet with this message.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
James 4:7-10 KJVSubmit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Cleanse your hearts, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, double minded...
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep...
I used to think there was something I just didnt have when it came to resisting evil and doing the right thing instead of evil. I thought there was something I just didn't get. The truth was, I understood it perfectly, I just didn't want to hear it or follow it.
The Bible explicitly states how we get rid of sinful habits in ourselves through prayer, in that verse above and many others.
You've probably heard James 4:7 before. If you submit to God you'll have dominance over the devil. Well I'm submitted aren't I? I mean, I don't ______ or ____. I pray every _____. Why am I still struggling?
We can't have fights with things that are dead. That would be a pretty easy victory. The problem is, we don't kill the sins in our lives, we just tell ourselves we do.
Imagine a rich man of some ancient country, whose servants did evil things, robbing and killing and doing everything they shouldn't in the night. The king demanded the rich man to kill those evil servants for their crimes.
