sultry breaths on bare shoulder. sluggish wisps of air provoking goosebumps along skin. steady exhales through separated lips.

two dents in pillow; one dent devoid.

flushed forehead against firm chest. two patient hands rest against unveiled skin.

limbs tangled together. intertwined.

final words hang neglected of an answer in space between them, though never really demanded an answer.

"can we stay here today?"

eyelashes flutter, gaze upon milky white skin; flicker underneath velvet layers to witness feet brushing against feet. where does one begin and the other finish?

lips settle into brunette strands, never quite extending a kiss. nose indulges smells of citrus and cedar root. eyes flutter shut, savouring a moment.

broad fingers sketch images of stillness along thinner waist.

ears sensatory due to absence of conversation. rain increases in meter. thinner fingers rest upon broader waist.

aura of neglected responsibilities envelop warm bodies, mollifying busy minds.

rapid hearts beat, elicited and evoked by fleeting waves of silent euphoria. singular pulse; synced. utterly and desperately belonging to one another.

I'm really sorry if you didn't like it, I know whatever kind of poetry this is isn't up everyone's ally. Contrary to expectation, this was one of the one-shots that took the longest, lol.
