"Would you carry me to the end?"

"Do not despair, my Predaking, for I vow to you, that the Autobots will pay dearly for the outrage against your kind." Your sire promised the Predacon. Predaking growled with his dermas trembling in anger. Knockout and Starscream exchanged glances with their snarky expressions.

You placed a servo on the beast mech's arm and offered a sad smile, of which he gratefully took. The mech clutched your servo, placing a quick kiss on your knuckles. He had seen it as something that human males often did with female royalty. It made your faceplates blush blue as you looked away.

"Shockwave, report!" The warlord called.

"It is true, my liege. Project Predacon has been rendered null and void. At least, I have been unable to recover any beast forms. However, there is something you must behold for yourself." You raised an optic ridge at this. What might it be? Well that question was swiftly answered when you, Starscream, and the warmonger walked through Soundwave's ground bridge.

"What is this?" The second-in-command gasped, his optics going wide at the sight of it. You stopped to stare out of it in surprise and curiosity, standing in between the two mechs. Shockwave walked forwards to explain.

"Pure Cybertronian cyber-matter, not unlike that which once existed upon our primeval home world." The cyclops said, emotionless as always. There were metallic spikes sticking out from the ground, the walls, the ceiling. They were everywhere!

"Or that which endangered my Citadel here on Earth." Megatron mumbled. Another thought entered his processor. "A result of the explosion?"

Shockwave confirmed it. "Indeed, yet the Cyber-Nucleic Acid alone cannot account for these cyberforms. All possible logic points to the presence of one unexpected variable: Synthetic Energon."

You flew down to the valley, where you quickly transformed and landed faceplates first in the lush, green grass. You groaned in pain, before getting back up and leaning against a tall tree. Even though you didn't need to breath, you couldn't help but gasp for it as you almost doubled over.

You had flown over immediately from the Nemesis as soon as Ultra Magnus called you on your comm. It was late at night, around eleven or twelve o'clock, maybe? He had sounded urgent, so you didn't even bother to argue.

"Magnus? You there?!" You called, your voice echoing in the valley. At times like these and planets like this, you couldn't help but appreciate the wonderful nature they had to offer. It was all so peaceful! The quiet aesthetic of the meadow was interrupted by the faint sound of an engine. A blue and red truck entered your vision and drove your way from around the mountainside. Then, the unexpected happened.

The lieutenant drove up to you, transformed, and slammed your backstruts right into the tree trunk.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" He growled, pushing his faceplates closer to you in a threatening manner. It was a little too close for comfort, though. Your optics went wide in fear and surprise.

"Tell you what?!" You cried out in alarm. His left arm was against your chassis, keeping your from standing straight. His face was not the only thing that was dangerously close to yours; his wrist nub was against the tree, right next to your hip.

"About the progress of Project Predacon!" Oh, that.

"I hadn't known until earlier today! I swear!" You defended. "Plus, a whole bunch of other scrap has just been happening, and I barely even know what's going on and-I warned you about the Predacon, didn't I?" The mech sighed, staring into your shining optics. Oh what you did to him, neither of you knew. Your optics closed as his forehelm leaned itself against yours. Magnus helped you stand straight, muttering an apology.

"I have been having recent difficulties." He raised his arm to show the spot where his servo was once connected. You raised your own servo, about to say something, but you decided against it and clutched your fist against your chassis.

"Yeah, sorry I couldn't prevent that. Predaking obviously needs to work on his anger issues!" You joked, attempting to lighten the mood. Ultra Magnus answered with only a grunt before looking up at the crescent moon above.

"Something you wanna talk about?" You asked, putting a shoulder on his shoulder playing like you had done for Predaking. The Autobot SIC sighed again. The whole you-against-a-tree was forgotten in the moment as he glanced at you with a solemn expression and sad optics.

"My leadership style doesn't seem to bode well with my teammates. I did talk to Optimus about how it seemed to affect their morale, but . . ." The lieutenant trailed off, looking anywhere but where you were. You let out a 'mmm'.

"You still don't feel like you belong with the family?" You asked, leaning on him. You stared up at the night sky. You were already prepared to fly back to the Decepticon warship and face the problems that sat on your sire's throne.

"Something like that." You put down your propped up arm and leaned your body weight on him, of which the mech simply let happen. You nodded, and replied with, "Yeah, me too."

"I should—er—p-probably get back to base." Ultra Magnus broke the awkward silence. You groaned, something he almost chuckled at.

"Fiiiiiiiiine," you drawl on, "I'll see you later, Mags."

Say goodbye to the life you make . . .
