Ruby's POV
(The bell rings)
I stand up and tuck the edge of my class books under my fingers. I begin making my way out of the classroom.
"Ruby!" I hear someone yell.
I stop and stare at Jaune who's waiting outside of the classroom.
"Oh, hey Jaune," I reply, walking up to him.
"Hey! What's wrong?" He asks. I think for a moment.
"What do you mean? I'm fine. Why are you asking?" I ask.
"You kind of seemed Sad when you said Hey to me," he pointed out.
"I'm fine! I swear! Just...tired!" I stutter. I was lying.
"Oh, okay! Hey, would you like to go eat with me, Nora, and Ren tonight?" He asks, smiling brightly.
"Sure!" I reply.
"Great! Now, let's get to class quickly before we are late!" He exclaims. He grabs my wrist and we run to class.
Our 2nd period is basically on the other side of the building to be honest.
We reach the classroom, but I stop at the door.
"Umm Jaune?" I say.
He turns around and looks at me with a curious look.
"What about your training? Did you go this morning?" I ask.
His face completely turns pale.
"Oh no."
I notice he begins freaking out and he cups his hands to his mouth.
"Oh crap, Oh crap, Oh crap! What am I going to do? I forgot! I went to first Period instead of training!" He panicks.
I stare at him. I lay my hands on his shoulders.
"Everything will be okay Jaune," I comfort him.
He looks at me.
"Just tell him the truth! Be honest!" I suggest smiling.
He stops panicking and stares at me.
He takes a deep breath..
"Thanks Ruby, I will try," He replies.
"No problem!" I giggle and let go of Jaune.
We enter the classroom together and sit down
After School~
I look around in my closet and try searching for something nice, but not to flashy to wear.
"Whatcha doing Ruby?"
I jump and turn around to see it's Yang, my older sister.
"Oh, I'm going to dinner with Jaune-"
Before I finish, she interuppts me.
"Ooooo! Jaune eh? That's so cute! Are you and him dating?!" She squeels.
"If you would let me finish my sentence.. Me, Jaune, Nora, and Ren are going to dinner together," I say.
"You still didn't answer my question!" She smirks.
"Uh- No! We aren't dating! Sheesh," I put my head down and facepalm, but really i'm trying to cover up the fact that im blushing..
"Huh, I wonder why he didn't invite me," she whispers.
I turn back around and continue searching for what to wear.
"Maybe he wanted it to be just 4 people. Besides, you and him barely talk to eachother so there would be no reason to invite you if you and him don't talk," I say.
"Mm true," She says.
It's quiet all of a sudden.
"Need any help?" She asks.
"No, I'm fi-"
"What was that? Yes? Aww Okay!" She completely ignores my answer.
She pushes me to the side and begins looking for clothes.
"Why are all of your clothes black and red?" She asks.
"Because they're just my colors.." I shyly reply.
"Ooo! I have some dresses! Come on, come on, come on!" She shreaks.
She pulls on my wrist and tugs me to her side of the room. She flings open her closet.
"Please no, I don't wanna wear a dress to dinner that's only going to be 30 minutes!" I say.
"Who cares if its short, you need to impress Jaune if you want to hook up with him!" She begins ravaging through her closet
"If you think about it, Nora and Ren are a couple, buuuut, Jaune is single and is inviting only you! He clearly wants to hook up with you!" She says.
My cheeks burn.
"What?! No! We are just Best friends!" I yell.
"Is that a lie I hear?" She teases.
I fold my arms. She eventually pulls out a knee-length black dress with a white belt that ties around the waist.
"Ah ha! This looks adorable! And it's small so it should fit you!" She says, holding up the dress.
"Thanks for pointing out that I'm small Yang," I scoff.
"What? It's true!" She says.
She hands me the dress and I take it.
"I'm really gonna regret wearing this, but I have nothing else so I have to," I sigh.
"Go put it on!" Yang brushes me off and I walk over to my bedside and begin taking off my clothes. I throw them to the side and slip on the dress. I tie the belt and turn around to look at Yang's awed face.
"YOU LOOK SO CUTE!" She squeals.
I fold my arms and look to the side. I sigh.
