Recovery

While you were walking you heard a female voice call out to you from behind.

"(Y/n)! How've you been!" Tenten ran up to you elated to see you and behind her was Neji.

"I've been doing well, how about you? And hey Neji." Giving you a small wave, you suggested if they'd like to join you to dango. Tenten eagerly accepted your offer and started dragging you towards the dango shop. Skidding to a stop you turned around and asked," Neji would you like to join us?"

Before he could reply with a yes, Tenten had interrupted. "No, us girls need to spend time together. Sorry Neji but I'll be taking her for today. Let's go (Y/n)."

Sending Neji an apologetic look you mouthed a quick goodbye to him while being dragged away again.

Arriving at the dango shop, you both ordered your fair share of dangos and began to immerse yourselves in random topics.

"So (Y/n)," popping a dango into your mouth, she started to wiggle her eyebrow upwards," any romantic interests in the guys yet?" Choking on your dango, you quickly gulped down your water and stared at her with a small blush on your cheeks. Tenten was outspoken and you honestly thought of her as a good friend and someone whom you can speak with unlike Sakura and Ino who blabber on about Sasuke.

"N-no I don't." Hearing a loud crash from behind, you saw a large vase tipped over on the ground and ontop was Neji.

"Neji, were you eavesdropping on us?" You crouched down to his level and helped him up. Flustered that you caught him, he let out a fake cough.

"No, well you see...I just-" Before he could finish he dashed off in a hurry to get himself out of explaining his presence at the dango shop. Shrugging your shoulders you went to sit down again with Tenten and spent the whole day chatting and catching up with her.

It was already sunset and you finally parted ways with Tenten. You enjoyed spending time with friends and you knew you needed to catch up with the others like team 8 and team 10.

Heading back home, while walking to your room you passed by Naruto's room next door and figured he wasn't home yet. Opening the door to your room you stepped inside and removed your shoes. Your bare feet made contact with the cold floor. Heading on over to the kitchen you prepared yourself (f/f).

After you finished eating you rummaged through your drawers and found some comfortable clothing to sleep in. Undoing the sheets you crawled under the covers and stared up at the dark ceiling. Feeling your eyes go heavy you shut your eyes and let sleep consume you.

*Timeskip*

It was already morning and you were heading out of your home. You knew you had to train in order to get stronger, but you'd wait until later to train since you wanted to relax at the moment.

"(Y/n)-chan!" Turning around, Naruto had came running up to you. "Where are you going all pumped up?"

"I'm going to go train to get stronger everyday." While walking with him you both turned a corner and stumbled upon Lee with a crutch to support him.

"Good morning Lee, how are you feeling?"

"What did Granny Tsunade tell you? You're going to make a recovery right?" You saw Lee's eyes widen a bit and was taken aback but quickly regained control his composure.

"Naruto!! (Y/n)!!" Moegi and Udon had came running up to you guys and started about the situation Konohamaru was in.

"Naruto you can go see what's wrong with him. I'll catch up in a bit." With Naruto gone you turned to face Lee.

"Okay what did Lady Tsunade about your condition. Judging from your expression early I'm assuming it isn't good." He sighed with a sad expression on his face.

"...Lady Tsunade said I should give up on being a ninja and follow a new path. I didn't expect it to be that bad..." He looked down at the ground and you felt sorry about what happened to him in his battle with Gaara.

"Despite your injuries maybe you could push through and still be a ninja." Giving him a quick hug, tears brimming in his eyes as he returned the hug.

"Thank you (Y/n), the fire of youth still burns within you." Flames appeared in his eyes as he made a fist. A sweat drop appeared on your forehead at his sudden change in attitude.

"I better catch up with Naruto, I'll see you around Lee. Oh and keep striving to recover." Running off towards the Hokage Tower you ran inside and encountered Naruto yelling at the door.

"I'm guessing he's in there?" They all nodded their heads as you began to approach the door.

"Wait! Be careful (Y/n) there's traps that he set up." Standing in front of the door you tried to nudge the door open but it wouldn't budge. Shaking the handles to the door, you heard noises above you as a clatter of pans started falling.

"(Y/n)!" Naruto had dived in to save you but you jumped away in time. Luckily you didn't get hit,but unfortunately Naruto was under the pile of pans in a dazed state.

"Argh alright I'll smash through this door with my new ultimate jutsu." Before Naruto could make a Rasengan, Lady Tsunade appeared and stopped him. Smashing the door open she stepped inside and disarmed all the traps without batting an eyelash. Stepping inside all she took was a book and left without a word.

Stepping inside the room you saw Konohamaru's scared face. "Get out of there Konohamaru you shouldn't be doing stunts like these. Do you think the Third Hokage would want you behaving like this?"

He remained silent but stepped out of the room and whispered something on Naruto's ear. Naruto had silently pointed that he'd be leaving with him. Watching them leave you stepped out of the room and observed the mess that Lady Tsunade had created.

Well I'm not cleaning this up. I'll just leave it to the others to handle this.

*Timeskip*

Running to the Hokage tower there was already a crowd of people waiting for Tsunade's inauguration. Making your way past people you spotted Naruto, Sakura, and Hinata.

"Hey guys sorry I'm late." Slightly panting you stood next to Hinata.

"What took you so long (Y/n)!" Sakura began to scold you on your tardiness as you tried to explain.

"U-um it's s-starting now," quietly said Hinata beside you and you were able to escape from Sakura.

I'm not going to tell Sakura the reason I was late was because I was sleeping. I'd get scolded even more from her.

We all stared up at Tsunade as she began to speak and remove her Kage hat. "From this day on I shall protect the Hidden Leaf as the Fifth Hokage." Her voiced echoed around the village and everyone began to cheer and celebrate. Smiling up at her you were glad she was chosen to be the Fifth Hokage and couldn't wait to see the changes she'd bring to this village.
