Chapter 30

LIYLA'S POV

The cottage that I spent a month in was now burning to the ground.

I gasped as I pulled out of Colton's embrace and ran down.

I heard him yell after me, but I kept on going.

The front door was on fire, but I kicked it open.

A huge flame came flying out and I ducked before I got burned.

My sight was blurry as I ran into the house. Everything was on fire and I ran around, trying to avoid the the flames.

I was coughing by now and Colton was beside me.

"We have to get out!" He yelled, but I shook my head.

"We have to find Alesso." I protested,

Colton stared at me for a moment, before picking me up bridal style and walking towards the door.

"NO! COLTON!" I screamed and fought against him.

He didn't seem affected by my screams, kicks, and scratches as we walked out of the cottage.

Tears streamed down my face and sobs left my open mouth as I struggled to get out of his grip.

He walked us to a safe distance of the cottage and set me down.

I tried to side step him, but he slipped his hands around my waist.

I punched his chest as he pulled me to his chest.

I cries were muffled by his shirt and I finally stopped fighting him.

"I hate you so much." I cried, but of course it was muffled.

Colton remained quiet as he stroked my hair.

"Alpha." We both looked up to see one of the men.

Next to him was another man and he held an unconscious Alesso in his arms.

I gasped as Colton let me go and I ran over to her.

Her breathing was shallow and her skin was slowly turning pale like a corpse.

"I'm using my body heat to warm her." The man informed me,

I nodded my head slowly, but I wasn't paying attention to him.

"We need to get to the pack as soon as possible. She needs medical attention right away." The man next to us said.

"Ok, let's go." Colton said and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"You can all go ahead. We'll reach there on our own." Colton said and the men nodded their heads.

I watched as they rested Alesso on one of the wolf's back. They ran off until they were out of sight.

"Where are we going?" I asked,

Colton ignored my question and picked me up bridal style. I squeaked in surprise and wrapped my arms around his neck.

We were silent as Colton walked to God knows where.

I rested my head on his shoulder. We finally stopped and Colton set me down, but kept me close to his body.

"This is what I wanted to show you." Colton said,

I turned around and gasped.
