"Phoenix." Daniel pulled me back. "Be careful." He warned.
Confused, I asked. "What do you mean?"
"D-don't stay with us for longer." Daniel's eyes were a dangerous blue, unlike those familiar playful eyes I knew. I wasn't used to those eyes or neither have I seen those eyes before. "If you've got darker secrets than us we might not be able to trust you after your secret if you have one because of the time you've been hanging with us." I was going to reply back until arms had wrapped around me and Daniel's shoulders.
"You two sure are slow." Ryan smiled, showing his pearly whites.
"Or maybe we're just too fast." Daniel had gone back to his playful self. The one I knew, the one that didn't scare me as much as the one I was talking with earlier.
"Daniel, it doesn't make sense." Ryan corrected blankly. As the two began to drift off into their own chat, I had gone into my own boat. Daniels words had replayed. What did he mean?
If he knew I was a girl would he be the one stopping happiness or maybe even my guilt? I'd not have to carry this burden with me through out the rest of my school year. Guess it's better than lying and not telling in the end....
