Larry finished cooking for Lyra and woke her up to eat.
"Lyra?" Larry gently shook her arm, "It's ready." He smiled when she moaned softly and mumbled. "Wake up mon coeur."
Lyra opened her eyes then groaned when she realized she was blushing a bright red. She put her head in her hands, trying to push away the thoughts she had just moments ago. She tried to shrink away from the realization she was in l-
'Don't you dare think it! No way! I doesn't believe in that word.' Lyra groaned.
But she couldn't deny her heart was strumming a beat too fast for even Larry to dance to.
While her conscious mind had been fighting to push away the pain she felt, her unconscious mind just slapped her in the face with the truth. She never tried to figure out the reason Larry's words hurt her. She just reacted. She was vulnerable for the first time, she let someone close to her heart.
She slowly removed the blanket and folded it then put it on the sofa as she walked to her dining room.
Larry had lit a candle in the center of the table. She sat down as Larry set a small three layer cake in front of her.

"Thank you. Everything is really pretty." Lyra replied trying to hide her still red face. She quickly picked up her fork to taste it. "De rien." Larry cooed.
The chocolate and strawberry flavors mixed in her mouth and tasted like chocolate covered strawberries. She smiled, it was one of the best things she's ever tasted. She savored every bite and Larry stood silently watching her from the kitchen. He checked his phone then smiled. 11:55pm
When she had a few bites left, he placed a small baby blue gift bag beside her plate. Lyra placed her fork on the side of her plate to pick the small bag up and retrieved two boxes.

One had a pouch containing necklace and the other box had a set of matching earrings. She stared at the way the gems sparkled in the candlelight. They were more than she ever expected to get from anyone and she was truly touched that Larry gave them to her.
