There was heavy knocking on the door, and I was annoyed. I turned over sleeping myself away but I heard it again.
"Jamal get the door" I said
He let out a loud snore and I took a pillow hitting him.
"Answer the doo' " I said
He turned over and rested a head on my chest.
"They'll call if it's serious" I heard him say
"Well hello there!"
Jamal and I both jumped up as we heard Armani's voice. He flipped the blankets over and took a peek towards the door.
"That's yo folks" he whispered
"Go, imma hide," I said about to slide under the bed
"No, no, no go outside in the back there's a luh shed"
"No its cold back there"
"Just do it"
I sighed running to the back door.

I pushed her luggage and other stuff in my drawer and closed it. I jogged to the front where I seen Armani rubbing her hair.
"Armani, what did I tell you about answering the door"
"Well you weren't gonna answer it"
I lifted her up shaking my head. I looked at my watch, "Good morning, did you guys need something?"
"Yeah I know you prolly don't know the answer to this, but by any chances do you know where Ari is?"
"N--"
"Oooo yea!" Armani said
Causing them both to look at her
"She was on the school papa' lemme show yall"
"Armani you can't read, why are you picking up school papers?"
She crossed her arms. "I can read"
"Hold on Ari's mama and daddy, lemme go get it"
I stood there awkwardly once she ran off.
"Jamal, have you talked to her?" Chris asked
"No. Why?" I asked
"No reason, just wondering if you knew"
Armani came back with a paper. "See", I grabbed it from her as she held my leg.
"Lemme see" Chris said taking the paper
"Arielle Alsina, better known as Kimberly or Kim, scores a shot that makes a win for the girl's basketball team."
"What's this for?" Asked Keyanna
"She--"
"Arielle made the team win! It's all over the school!! How do you not know about this?"
"I'm sorry I don't go to your school"
"But that's your daughter, didn't you guys see it!?" Armani questioned
"No"
"Well watch it on TV, it's pretty big"
"Okay"
"Jamal I'm not tryna sound like ion trust you, but I don't trust you so can I just check myself to see if Arielle is here or not?"
I nodded, "yeah I understand go ahead"
