Chapter 38 - Surprise!

*Vida's POV*

I don't know what to do, I hope they are fine.
After I told them that they are in trouble. I didn't utter a word.

"Is everything fine?", says Harry putting his hand on my shoulder.
" I don't know, we need to go to the hospital, right now!", I say.
"Why are they in the hospital?", says Liam.
" I don't know Ritu just told me to come to the hospital ", I say.

Everybody agrees to come.

We all to the hospital. I call Ritu, she comes out.
Her eyes were puffy and red and tears were rolling out of her eyes.
She comes and hugs me tightly.

" Ritu, what's wrong what happened?", I ask.
She doesn't utter a word. She grabs my hand and takes me near the I. C. U. 

 She points her finger towards the door.

Then, I saw someone whom I didn't expect to be there. 

Richard was lying on the bed.

She started crying even more after she showed me him.

The boys and Ashley were also shocked.

"How did this happen?", asks Louis softly.

*Flashback*

*Ritu's POV*

I was driving the car. I didn't know where to take Ric. 

I didn't even know his address. He never told me about his family. I only know his brother.

So, I decided to take him to my home.

When I was driving. 

Suddenly, Ric got up. " Hey... Where the hell are you taking me?", he asks.
"Somewhere!", I say.
" Oh my God! You're kidnapping me?", he says. 

He puts the window down. 

He kept his head out and started shouting "Hey! This girl here is kidnapping me save me!!", he shouts.
I grab his shirt, put him back onto his seat and lock all the windows.

" Now shut up and sit", I say.
"What do you think everything you say I'll do?", he says in his drunken state. 

As I was driving, suddenly, he starts turning the steering wheel. 

" Ric, stop it!", I say.
"No! I won't", he says.
I lost control over the car.
Suddenly, the front part of the car bashes into a tree.
I close my eyes. The glass of the car breaks. I could hear the sound.
When I open my eyes, I could see someone's arms wrapped around me. 

It was Ric.

There were some glass pieces were over him. 

I tried to wake him up " Ric! Ric! Get up! Please open your eyes! Ric please", I say. But he doesn't open his eyes.
I could see blood oozing out of the cuts.

*End of flashback*

*Vida's POV*

"So, that's how he is in there and I'm here. I fainted as soon as I saw Ric like that, someone found us and called the ambulance", says Ritu.

"It was a lady. She was here till now", she says.

"I woke up today morning with tiny bruises on my hands, but Ric......", as Ritu says tears fall from her eyes.
"He is in that ICU because of me. He saved me. If he wouldn't have come in front of me I would be there", she says.
I feel so bad.
I..... never understood his love for me.", says Ritu crying on my shoulder.

" Did you call his parents? ", asks Ashley.
" No! I don't know anything about his parents", says Ritu.
"Then, we all should take turns and stay here with Ric", says Niall.
" Yeah", all of them say.

"Ok! Who's the lady who called up the hospital?", asks Liam.
" She went to the cafeteria. Oh! There she is", she says pointing at a lady with blonde hair. 

Wait! Is that Liam's mother?

"Hey, Mom! What are you doing here, in London?", asks Liam.
" Hey! I came for a reunion of our friends which is on Thursday, I thought to surprise you but when I was coming to your place I saw this and called the ambulance. So, I was here till morning.
I was at your aunt's place yesterday. But you surprised me you didn't even tell me that you got engaged. I saw it today morning on Google news.", says his mother.

Thank God she didn't come last night, she would have got a heart attack looking at her son in a very drunk condition.

"Mom! By the way, meet my fiancée Vida", says Liam keeping his across my shoulders.
" Vida! This is my Mom, Karen", says Liam.

I couldn't utter a word.

"Hi! Nice to meet you Mrs Payne", I say giving her a shake hand. 

After that, she pulls me and hugs me. " It's nice to meet you too, sweetheart", she says.

"Guys! I'll take my mom home, so I'll see you guys later, Ritu take care of yourself", says Liam.

Ritu nods and says thanks to Mrs Payne for staying all night in the hospital. 

I move away from Liam but he comes and hugs me and whispers in my ear "I'm sorry I did that, but we started this! We have to continue."
I punch him on his stomach lightly.
"Ouch!", he says.
" Don't show me your love like that", he says sarcastically.
He pulls away. 

Suddenly, Niall gets a call, so he goes to some corner and starts talking.

Karen says goodbye and leaves along with Liam.
"Don't you think this is getting too serious?", asks Louis.
" I don't know what's happening? When did you both get engaged?", asks Ritu.

I explain to her everything that happened between me and Taylor and what happened today morning.
She starts laughing.

"Wedding bells! Wedding bells for Vida.", Louis starts singing.
" Shut up, Louis ", I say.

The doctor comes and tells us that Ric's condition is stable but he needs to keep under observation till tonight to see if something goes wrong or not.
A smile spreads across Ritu's face.
I could see that she was relieved.

Niall comes and says " Vida! We need to go home urgently", he says.
"Why?", I ask.
" Just come! Ritu, you also come and freshen up", says Niall.

Harry, Louis and Ashley agree to stay at the hospital.
Niall takes me back home along with Ritu.

*Liam's POV*

"I like Vida! She seemed to be sweet", says my Mom.
I smile as I was driving the car.

" Drop me at your Aunt's place", she says.
"Why? I'll take you home", I say.

" No! You and Vida might be living there, so I don't want to disturb you two ", she says.
" No, Mom, it's nothing like that and Vida and I don't live together", I say.
"Why? And... one more thing I don't think your father will agree for you to marry Vida!", she says.
" Why?", I ask.
"Because he and my friend's husband made a pact that his daughter will be married to you", she says.

I stop the car.

" What?", I ask.
"Yeah! My friend will be coming for the reunion on Thursday. You should come with me", she says.

I nod and start driving the car.
I drop her at my Aunt's place.
Isn't my life great? I love the girl. I'm not even engaged to her but people think I am.
Now, I should go and meet some other girl whom I'm supposed to get married to. 

Great!

As soon as I reach home and open the door I find someone standing in the hall. 

I was surprised.

It was none other than my Mom.

" Mom! What are you doing here?", I ask.
"Surprise!!!", she says.
