Chapter 37 - We're Engaged?

*Vida's POV*

What just happened? Did I just hear my name in the news?
What the hell?
I look at Liam, he's looking at me.

 We were just staring at each other.

"No, this cannot be happening, I don't want to be engaged at 21", I say.
" You're telling as if I want to be engaged to you, this is-", says Liam but I interrupt him saying "Yeah I know this is all because of me, now don't start the blame game.", I say.
" Guys, chill! I think Taylor called the paps and told them because we threw her out of the party", says Niall.

"And..", he says coming and hugging me. " Don't blame my little cousin, she saved you from that chick! So, be grateful ", says Niall.
"Aww! I love you Nialler!", I say hugging him back.
" I love this, cousins love", says Ashley.
"I know we make the best pair of cousins", I say.

"I love you!", says Liam hugging me and Niall together.
" What did you just say?", I ask.
"I said I love you to Niall", says Liam.

Suddenly my phone rings. It was my Mom. I didn't talk to her for a month. I lift the call.

V: Hey mom! How are you?
M: I'm fine! But what's wrong with you?
V: What do you mean by what's wrong with me?
M: Oh come on Vida! I'm your mother, you didn't even feel like telling me before you told everyone?
V: Mom! What are you talking about?
M: Vida! You're engaged and you didn't even tell me?
V: Mom I'm not engaged.
M: Don't lie, you might lie but the news doesn't. What's the name of the guy?
V: I'm not telling you. Don't you believe me?
M: No I don't! Now give the phone to Niall.

I give my phone to Niall. He takes it, smiling at me.

That's suspicious.

N: Hey, Baby! What's up?
M: I told you not to call me baby! Call me Briana.
N: But I love to call you, Baby!
M: Shut up and tell me what's the name of the guy?
N: It's Liam, he's my bandmate and he's more like my brother.
M: OK! That's nice. Tell Vida that I want to Skype with her right now!
N: Do you miss me, Baby? Wanna see me?
M: No! I want to see my baby and her fiancé.
N: Ok, darling! As you wish! Bye!
M: Bye! Take care of yourself.
N: Sure! You take care of yourself too! Bye.

"What happened?", I ask.
" She wants to Skype with you and Liam", says Niall.
"Ok! I'm ready", says Liam.
" But I'm not", I say.
"I think you should feel lucky! Because even if you get pregnant, it'll be fine.
I think you should marry him", says Niall.
" Shut up! I'm not getting pregnant and I'm not marrying him. Why should I always be getting married to him and don't tell Mom about all this, again she'll think I'm pregnant and start deciding the name of her grandchildren. So! No! Understood two of you?", I ask.

Both of them nod.

Liam gets his laptop and I log into my Skype account.
I click on my Mom's username.
I start the video call. 

Finally, I could see a pair of brown eyes staring at me.
She looked happy. I didn't see my Mom happy in a while.
Since I didn't talk to her for a month, she is upset, angry and curious to know what I'm doing away from her and her husband.

V: Hi Mom! How are you?
M: How's my baby?
V: I'm fine! How's dad?
M: He's busy, but he misses you a lot.
V: I know that! I'll talk to him.
Mom! You don't know actually what happened, I'm not engaged to Liam.
M: Ok? So, tell me what happened.
V: Actually-
N: Hi Baby!

Niall pops in the middle.

M: First, call me Briana! Then I'll talk to you.
N: Ok! Hello Aunt Briana! How are you?
M: I'm fine! I want to see my son-in-law.
V: You don't have any son-in-law. Let me explain.

Niall pulls in Liam.

N: He's the one!
L: Hi! I'm Liam, nice to meet you.
M: Hi Liam! I'm Vida's mother and you can call me Briana.
V: Mom actually what-

Liam interrupts me.

L: It was a surprise for Vida.
She was shocked. 

M: Why is she telling that she's not engaged?
L: She's so surprised that she doesn't want to accept the fact that I proposed to her.
M: Oh! So, can I meet your parents?
L: They don't know about it.
M: I think they might have got to know about this just like me, by the news.
V: Mom listen to me, these two are ly-

Niall puts his hand over my mouth.

N: It was nice talking to you, Baby after a long time, but we have work, so bye!
M: Bye guys! Take care of yourselves.

I remove Niall's hand from my mouth.

Harry and Louis come out of the guest room.

"What the hell is wrong with you two? Why did you tell Mom that Liam and I are engaged?", I shout at them.

" Listen, Vida! Just relax, we told it because your Mom looked so happy when she got to know-", says Liam when I interrupt him saying "know what? That you and I are engaged?"

"Do you guys think this is a game?", I ask, angrily.

"Are you guys thinking all this is a joke?", I say.
"You guys made my life a joke", I say. 

Liam and Niall look at each other.

"First, you people made someone kidnap me, then, I go and tell Liam that I love him before he got fake married to someone and now just because I lied to Taylor to save Liam, it doesn't mean you confirm the news!", I say.

"I'm not fine with this!", I say.
"Niall? How do expect me to marry Liam? We hardly know each other to spend the 'rest of our lives, together", I say, frustratedly.
" Vida! Stop getting frustrated, you're not going to be pregnant ", says Niall.
" What?", I say.
"Yeah! Ashley and I just played a game, you were drunk, Liam was drunk, you threw up last night, so when Ashley asked me to give Liam's shirt which I removed because he said that he was feeling hot, I gave to her and you wore it. Now, before I run, I'm gonna say this... nothing happened between you two", says Niall.

After a moment of silence.

" I'm going to kill you! You just wait there", I say running behind him.
"I'm ready with my murder weapon", says Liam grabbing a fork from the dining table.
Harry grabs a pillow and says " Want any help?" 

I nod.

Louis picks up a pan and Ashley stands near the main door so that Niall doesn't run away.

*Niall's POV*

 Right now, I feel like I'm on a battlefield and I'm the one left from the enemy's team.
I hope I'll survive.
I know I will, but the problem is, in the opposite team the leader is strong it's none other than my dearest cousin Vida.

Just before they all attacked me together. 

Vida gets a call.

"Vida! Whose call, was it?", I ask after she spoke, she looked sad.
" What happened? ", asks Louis.

" Did Ritu and Ric leave the party in the middle? ", asks Vida.
" Yeah! ", says Harry.
" They are in serious trouble now!", says Vida.
