Avoiding

"Not going to work today either?" Stella asked as she poked her head in to my room to see that I was awake.

"No," I turned my back to her and brought the covers up over my head.

"I don't know what happened between you two, but it's not like you to avoid someone." She commented; when I gave no answer, she left.

For hours, I laid there thinking about what happened to me over a week ago. I needed space from the world. I needed to figure out what was happening to me and what I had gotten myself in to. Kevin declared his love to me but he has not known me for so long and he already loves me? I would not believe it, I would put myself in a weak position ever again and I knew exactly what I had to do for the sake of my sanity.

"Marina, glad you're back, I thought you were still out sick, or did the boss my cripple something between those legs." Emmy another fellow assistant greeted as I made my way to Kevin's office.

"Nope, nothing like that." I gave her a halfhearted smile before she smirked and went back to work.

Continuing to my destination, I walked straight to Kevin's office, not bothering to knock but stopping short at the sight before me. Kevin sat in his chair looking up at me from a stack of papers while a woman with long red hair leaned one hand n the desk, while her overly exposed cleavage demanded his attention from their closeness to his face. I also noticed that her left hand lay a little too comfortably around his shoulders. After my momentary shock faded, I continued my walk to his desk before stopping in front of it.

"Is this how your employees treat you, don't even knock before entering your office?" The woman asked as she stood up straight along with Kevin at her side.

Her voice was familiar and so was her face. I stared for a while until I realized she was one that challenged me in the fight club. This has to be the third person I've met from the fight club, who works in this kind of environment, it is strange.

"Marina, is everything alright?" Kevin asked looking me over as he ignored the woman's comment.

"Fine, in fact, Mr. Fisher, I came to give you and the younger Mr. Fisher these papers." I set the paper on his desk, "Goodbye, Mr. Fisher." I walked to the door before he called out to me.

"What is this?" I looked over my shoulder and gave him a thoughtful look.

"I think the words on the paper are meant for you to read, they should explain the existence of the paper." With that said, I closed the door behind me and made my way over to Gabriel's office.

I knocked on his door before entering, to find Gabriel and Stella breathing heavily and trying to fix their clothes. I rolled my eyes and made my way to his desk. They both opened their mouths to speak but I cut them off.

"I don't even want to know, I don't care, as long as Stella's comfortable with it, great, as for me I came to give you this, and I'll be back tomorrow, bye." I set the paper on his desk and quickly made my way to the door.

"But Marina," Stella came toward me.

"No, no, no, no, no," I turned around shaking my head and holding my palms out to stop her, "No, go back over there, I got things to do, I don't want to talk, and I don't want to hear, okay?"

With that said, I closed the office door behind me and made my way to the elevator. I quickly pressed the button hoping to make it come quicker since I wanted to leave unnoticed. Of course, things don't always work out that well for me.

"Marina!" Kevin's voice called to me as he hastily made his way toward me.

"Two more, just two more," I mumbled while looking back at the elevator light to see it was on the eighteenth floor.
