Chapter 65- Changing dynamics

''Yes, he is! Wo Siya se pyaar karta hai tho uske saath chale jaane mein problem kya hai. Waise bhi ban hone se Manik ko kuch problem nahi hai'' Dhruv said. ''But I have a problem, log tho mujhse kehte hai ki mere wajhe se Manik ka ye haal hua. So now, do something for yourself Dhruv, ab tumhe bhi mahaan banne ka time aa gaya. Ab tho Manik ki ban hatao. Warna main'' I was about to say but he spoke first, ''Siya se kuch mat kehna!'' he warned me. ''No, I won't. Ek baar aisi galti kar chuki hu and I'm not that naive anymore. Siya ya Manik ko batane se kya hoga, jisse bolna hai, jaha bolna hai wahi bolunga'' I threatened him. ''Ok, shaadi ke baad main ye karunga, give me some time'' he said. ''I don't believe you. Tum itne aasani se kuch nahi karoge. I will announce to everyone that Dhruv is making efforts to get back Manik to movies, tab tho tumhe karna hi padega'' I said. ''Of course, I will. Now let's leave from here'' Dhruv and I came out and I made sure Manik is not around. 

By the way, ye Manik abhi tak dikha kyu nahi yaha. I spotted Cabir, Navya and Aryaman there and joined them. ''I tried calling you many times Navya, where were you?'' I asked Navya and before she could answer we heard Siya asking Manik. ''Manik, ye bacho jaisa zid kyu kar rahe ho?'' she asked him. ''So, you just want me to dance that's it?'' lagta hai Manik finally maan gaya. Why is he coming towards us? ''Nandini'' he extended his right hand in front of me. ''Will you dance with me tonight?'' he asked me. I didn't expect this move of Manik. ''Humne rehearse hi nahi kiya tho dance kaise?'' I said. ''Oh come on, Nandini you just said mujhe rehearse ki zarurat hi nahi hai. So just join me'' he asked for my hand. Siya and Rohan were standing behind us. ''Mera dance partner tho Rohan hai'' I said in a low voice. ''Siya and Rohan rehearsed since morning, they will definitely do well, so I'm yours tonight'' he said. ''Yes Nandini, tumhe mana nahi karna chahiye, go for it'' Cabir said. Having no option, I came up on the dance floor. Siya and Rohan are a couple now, along with Dhruv-Alya and Navya-Cabir.

The song played and Manik danced with me. I was just aligning my body with his moves. ''Manik, what's all this?'' I asked him. ''I never knew you wanted me to be with you in public, but now that you said I should not do something in private if I cannot do it in public, I knew what you want'' he said. ''I'll never do something which you don't like anymore. Stop me if you don't like to dance with me'' he said. ''Oh, now you're making me taste my own medicine. I'm not stopping you instead I will make you more embarrassed tonight'' I said. I don't know why I said but I know what to do if he goes overboard. Main aaj Manik ko Siya ke saath dance karne ka mauka nahi doongi, tab usko pata chalega that his words are only words and in reality he will always chose Siya over me. The song stopped and everyone cheered for the couples on stage. ''Where are you going?'' Manik stopped me holding my hand. ''Go away Manik'' I said taking back my hand and all the couples have already got off the stage. Manik pulled me towards him with my dupatta and I heard a song being played again. Everyone looked as surprised as me.

''Manik, what is this paagalpan? Is this a song to dance on a sangeet?'' I asked him. ''Nahi hai, but ye baat tumhara aur mere alawa kis ko pata hai?'' he asked me. ''Even you don't know what'' I was about to say something but he stopped me. ''I know what does it mean. Nee kosam telugu nerchukunna'' (I have learnt Telugu for you), he said. ''What?'' I asked not believing him. ''Not so fluently but good enough to manage to talk'' he said. ''Ee dress lo chala andanga unnav (You look beautiful in this dress)'' I was a bit surprised and happy as he spoke in Telugu. It feels so soothing when you hear someone speaking in your mother tongue in a new state. The song is finished and so we got down from the stage. ''Manik, what was it?'' Dhruv was the first one to ask Manik. ''Nandini is a Telugu girl, so there has to be a telugu song in the playlist if I dance with her'' Manik said. ''Your telugu is good and thank you for this'' I told him. 

''O cheli kshaminchamannanuga (O beloved, can you forgive me)'' he said, no he literally sang it. ''You should say the next verse I think'' he thought I would sing the next line but I can't help but smiled at his helplessness. ''Next line tho mujhe pata nahi Nandini'' he said. ''Neeku idi ivala kotha kaadu ga (This is not first time for you to ask for forgiveness)'' I helped him to recollect the next line and he smiled back. ''Manik'' it was Aryaman who called him now. ''Go now, your friend is waiting'' I said as I left from there. I'm sure Aryaman would bombard Manik with lots of questions. Manik ka ye bold act dekhke tho sab log aaj usse question karega, it would be a treat to watch Manik Malhotra like that. ''Rohan, tum yaha kya kar rahe ho?'' I asked Rohan who is standing at a distance. I went near him and there are no lights near us. ''Ek minute Nandini'' he said. I couldn't even look at him properly in the darkness. Suddenly there were lights around us. That place was beautifully setup and well lit now. ''Wow! What a decor. Are you looking into some arrangements here!'' I asked him as I thought this decor is for groom and bride.

''Nandini, I love you'' Rohan sat on his knees and I was shocked. Siya, Aryaman and Manik watching us is the icing on the cake.
