Chapter 65- Changing dynamics

Nandini's POV:

It is funny how Manik gives relationship advices not realizing he doesn't follow them. Anyway I can get out of here once Alya leaves from there. I did not hear them speaking so I checked if they went away but saw Manik still standing there. He looked at me like I'm an alien. "Actually I was inside this washroom and heard someone crying. But then I stayed back when I heard you and Alya were talking'' I said. ''Please don't say this anyone as Alya said'' he said and I nodded as yes and left from there. I can't believe Alya ke saath Dhruv ye sab karta tha. I really wish Alya should be courageous enough to end this relationship. Rohan had dropped me home after the function and said he would pick me up for Sangeet too.

''Nandini'' he called me when I was about to leave. ''Aaj tum bahut beautiful lag rahi ho'' he said. I suddenly remembered Manik who also said the same. ''Thank you but aise compliments tho tum generally nahi dete ho'' I asked him as Rohan is not a kind of person who pays attention to little things. ''Pehle karta nahi tha but I just wanted to tell you, agar tumhe acha nahi laga tho'' I had cut him off and said, ''Rohan, you can say anything to me, from all these years I know how good person you were. Tumhe koi explanation dene ki zarurat hi nahi hai'' I said and he smiled. Rohan is such a gentleman. He was always there for me even when I don't need him. I really owe him everything I have today. Ye money, fame aur popularity sab Rohan ki wajhe se. He has done so much for me but yet he is so grounded. Ek taraf Rohan jaise log aur dusre taraf Dhruv jo apne fayde ke liye kuch bhi kar sakta hai. Aur ek Manik tho na idhar ka na udhar ka. He can't even compliment me in front of everyone. How the hell I'm supposed to believe him. Khud Dhruv ka puppet ban gaya. Mujhe Dhruv se baat karke Manik ka ban lift kara dena chahiye. At least that way, mera guilt kam ho jayega.

I opened my wardrobe to see what I can wear for Sangeet and tried a few dresses. Navya se pooch leti hu, agar wo yaha aayegi tho thoda easy bhi ho jayega. I tried calling her but uska phone hi nahi laga. I have finally decided on wearing a turquoise colored lehenga as it would match the sangeet vibe. Rohan aur maine bahut dance rehearses kiya hai. I wish humara performance acha hona hai. I called Rohan as I got ready and he came in some time to pick me up. I opened the door when he knocked it. ''I remember I said you looked beautiful in the afternoon right?'' Rohan said entering inside. ''Ha! Ab acha nahi hai kya'' I asked him looking myself into the mirror again. ''More than beautiful ko kya kehte hai, English mein words tho mujhe bhi aate hai but I don't know how to say it in a poetic way'' he said. ''Why do you want to tell me something in a poetic way. Tum jaise ho waise hi bol do'' I said and we started off as it is getting late.

I decided to talk to Dhruv tonight. Usse baat karne ke liye tho main fully prepared hu. Bas Manik mere peecha karna chod de. ''Aaj tum kuch nervous lag rahe ho? Kyu?'' I asked him. ''Am I nervous?'' Rohan asked me in return. We did not talk much till we reached the venue. ''This is just a stage performance, don't be nervous about it'' I told him. Siya was the first one to greet us. Siya asked me if I was ready with my performance and I said yes. ''Sure, main aur Rohan abhi aayenge'' both of them had disappeared from there. I should talk to Dhruv before Manik spots me. I went towards the dressing room and enquired about the groom's room. I knocked the door on Dhruv's room and he shouted come-in from inside. ''Nandini, You!'' he wasn't expecting me there. ''Dhruv, I wanted to talk to you'' I think I should come straight to the point. ''What is it?'' he asked casually. ''It's about Manik'' I said and Dhruv looked at me suspiciously. ''Manik ke baare mein kya?'' he asked me. 

''I know that you are the reason behind Manik getting banned from doing films'' I said it finally. ''Excuse me!'' he looked shocked. ''I didn't do anything Nandini, you should just leave from here'' Dhruv said. ''Oh stop it Dhruv! Sabke attention Siya se hatane ke liye tumne Siya ki award ki news ki jagah Manik ki ban news spread kar diya. And it was win-win situation for you. Everyone will sympathize with Manik, he will play a victim card. You cleverly manipulated everything. Mujhe khud guilty feel hua ki mere wajhe se Manik ko ye sab kuch dekhna pada. Amidst the news of me and Manik, you have hid Siya away from accusation and guilt'' I said. ''Ab tumhe kya chahiye? Tab mujhe jo sahi laga maine wahi kiya. I thought I can talk to film chamber and they will take their decision back but Manik himself agreed to leave Mumbai'' Dhruv justified as if he did not do anything. ''Manik agree nahi accept kiya hai, that too he left with Siya to take care of her. And you thought Siya will be in good care if Manik accompanied her. Tum Siya ke liye Manik ko itna injustice kiya hai. He is your friend'' I wanted to slap him but somehow controlled my anger.
