Chapter 53- Heartbroken

Nandini's POV:

One hour before:

''Scooter, come'' I called him to have food but he looked lazy. Door bell rang and I found Aryaman at the door step. ''Good morning Aryaman, why do you look so grumpy?'' I asked him. ''Kuch nahi'' he said carelessly. Scooter came near Aryaman wagging his tail. ''You got yourself a puppy'' he asked me. I remembered Manik lying to Aryaman about him being with me, so I did not tell Aryaman that Manik brought him for me. ''Yes, I was feeling low after Satya died, that's when Scooter came into my life'' I said. ''Iska naam Scooter hai! So weird but cute'' he said. ''Tum baitho, I'll get something to eat'' I said and he said that he didn't have his breakfast with Manik. I made cheese omelette for him and he is nowhere in the drawing room. ''Aryaman'' I called out for him and I heard his voice from Satya's room. ''Tum waha kya kar rahe ho?'' I said as I entered the room but I found Aryaman holding the letter I wrote for Manik.

Last night when Manik asked me about the pile of papers, I shifted it to Satya's room and now it is in Aryaman's hand. I hope he didn't read it. Kisiko batane se pehle mujhe Manik ko batana hai. ''Aryaman'' he didn't say anything. ''What is this Nandini?'' he asked me referring to the paper. Oh God, lagta hai isne letter padh liya. ''Aryaman, wo'' I did not know how to explain him. Mujhe khud pata nahi when I have started falling for Manik. We were not even good friends earlier. Jo equation main Cabir, Aryaman ya Rohan ke saath share karti hu, Manik ke saath tho nahi hai. Manik is different, I feel so special when I'm around him. I love him so much. ''Nandini, I'm asking you something'' Aryaman asked me again. ''I think you know what it is, if you have already read it'' now there is no escape from him. ''But do you even remember Manik loves Siya'' he said. ''Yes, I know but zaruri nahi ki har pyar shaadi mein hi end ho, iss letter mein maine wo likha ki main kya feel karti hu uske baare mein'' I said. ''How can you say that? Siya and Manik are so much in love that the nation knows about them'' he said. ''Whatever you see may not be the truth Aryaman? If I can write this for Manik, surely he made me felt that way'' I said. 

''Are you trying to come in between them Nandini?'' he asked me unbelievably. ''Why would I? I'm not her home breaker or something'' I honestly don't want to be one. ''Ye letter mein tho tumne clearly likha hai ki you love him, agar wo na kahe tho?'' he asked me. ''If Manik says no, it's okay. At least maine try tho kiya, I will not have that regret and I'm sure Manik will not say no'' I don't know why but I feel Manik aisa kabhi nahi karega. ''Manik aisa kabhi karega hi nahi, wo mera love accept karega'' I said. ''How could you be so sure?'' he asked. I remembered how we felt when we shared a kiss last time. ''Uska behavior se mujhe aisa hi laga'' I said. ''Did you ever find Manik shouting at someone? Or did you ever see Manik acting all mean? No, that means wo tumhare saath hi nahi kabhi bhi kisi ke saath aisa badtameezi nahi kar sakta hai'' he told me. Aryaman is trying to instigate me but I wanted to stay calm. ''Please Aryaman, let Manik decide usko kya karna hai'' I said not wanting to invite a trouble.

''Jo karna hai usne already kar diya Nandini, wake up now'' he said. ''Kya kiya usne?'' I didn't get him. ''Kal usne kya bataya tumhe that you won the best actress but aaj ke official announcement dekho, usme tumhara naam nahi Siya ka naam hai'' he said. ''Aisa nahi ho sakta, why would it be changed in last minute?'' I asked him checking the list. Yes, he is right. Best actress mein Siya ka hi naam hai. ''Change hua nahi, change kiya gaya hai. Tumhara naam best actress mein nahi best debut actress mein hai'' he said. ''Why would someone change it? Who would it be?'' I asked him clueless. ''Manik'' he said. Now I can't believe him. ''No, why would Manik do that to me? Usne mujhe khud congratulations bola, even you were there right?'' I asked him. ''Nandini, please try and understand, Manik replaced you with Siya. Siya ne hi tumhara naam recommend kiya iss role ke liye, Manik thinks she regrets her decision to cast you as a female lead instead of herself'' he said. ''Aryaman, I don't want to believe what you are saying, please aise mazaak mat karo'' I was almost in tears but I don't want to show it to him. He then called Manik and put his phone on speaker.
