Zhou Mei and Zhou Tao, who should have died long ago, had returned to Banana Leaf Village in good health, and then the whole village was thrown into the gloom of the ghost knocking on the door.

Ji Mingxia had just zeroed in on them as suspects for sucking the villagers’ life expectancy to extend their lives, and he was surprised to find that they were moving today.

His first reaction was to think that this was not a coincidence and that it was probably a trick.

But the movers coming in and out didn’t look like they were pretending..

“My mother’s cancer has recurred and she needs to undergo treatment.  So my dad and I have to go take care of her.” Zhou Tao said, “I don’t know what to expect with this disease but in case of a seizure, she has to be rescued in time. That is why we decided to temporarily close the supermarket and leave the village. We’ll come back when she recovers.”

Zhou Tao played with the copper coin bracelet hanging on his wrist: “And you, how did you do in the college entrance exam?”

“Not bad, played about as usual but the scores are not out yet.” Ji Mingxia glanced at his bracelet and said to Zhou Tao, “I came back yesterday and your supermarket was still fine. I didn’t expect to move out today without any news……”

“There was no need to flaunt it so that the whole village knows.” Zhou Tao said, “I did not expect to meet you before leaving, do you want to go to my house and sit down?”

Ji Mingxia glanced at the supermarket not far away, and then looked at Zhou Tao.

Zhou Tao was looking to the side the whole time, one eye kept looking in an unknown direction and the other eye was looking at him and waiting for his reply.

Ji Mingxia pondered for two seconds and finally said, “Okay.”

Zhou Tao led Ji Mingxia towards the mini-supermarket. It was noon, the sun was hanging in the sky and it was the hottest time of the day, but the closer to the mini-supermarket, the lower the temperature became.

The entrance of the mini-supermarket was fine. The sun was shining, the people going in and out the supermarket were drenched in sweat so no it didn’t seem so obvious.

But upon entering the mini-supermarket, Ji Mingxia only felt a chill. The entire mini-mart seemed to be shrouded in a damp cold air.

Ji Mingxia unconsciously rubbed his arms and turned his head to look at Zhou Tao, but found that Zhou Tao had been looking at him.

Zhou Tao stood beside him, the front of his face was facing forward, but because he was cross eyes, the eyes were skewed to the very corner and he could look to the side without turning his head.

Having been caught, Zhou Tao slowly turned his head back. But immediately after, Zhou Tao turned back his head and smiled at Ji Mingxia as he said: “The air conditioning is on too low so it’s a little cold. You sit first, I’ll pour some hot water for you.”

Ji Mingxia wanted to refuse but Zhou Tao had already walked away without a word.

The supermarket was being reorganized so everything was a mess. Zhou Tao bypassed a shelf and disappeared in a flash, leaving Ji Mingxia standing alone.
