Keeping A Word

From the very moment he saw a cyborg arriving in the main hall, he never thought even for a second he could win in a fight. When he said 'I'd rather fight for a miracle than die like a fool'... what he truly thought was 'I'd rather escape as a coward than fight like a fool'!

From the moment he learnt that Enry Arsin was actually watching them, a single thought stayed in his mind: why didn't he, from the start, activated the Fefnir tech that was everywhere in the Party Hall? It would've been easy to use it to isolate Erica, John and himself in a securized room to imprison them, or at least send them out of the Party Hall, right?

No matter how he looked at it, from the moment he met Cain on the balcony to the moment he entered the main hall, Enry Arsin should've definitly intervened. He definitly noticed Tyler, and had multiple occasions to take him out of the equation, especially when the drunkard passed through the wall of Fefnir tech of the balcony. There, just a slight intervention, and there would've been no more Tyler Rochemord.

Which could only lead to a single conclusion: for a reason or another, Enry Arsin wasn't able to control the installations in the Party Hall!

Therefore, when Tyler 'deduced' that he couldn't use the Fefnir tech in the wall to escape, it was actually a bluff. It was because, from the very first moment he saw her, he knew the blond Guardian was the type of person to deceive others. In a situation like this, even if she knew that director Arsin was unable to control the place, she would still pretend otherwise.

And when Tyler pretexted to believe it and engaged the fight, she was lured into thinking he fell into the trap. And in the end, the deceiver was deceived! Even if Tyler, falling into rage, momuntarily forgot his plan, he eventually came back to his senses at the critical moment, completly fooling Melia.

"You... what are you doing? COME BACK!" Melia screamed hysterically. "DON'T THINK YOU CAN ESCAPE AFTER DARING TO DAMAGE MY FACE, YOU BASTARD!"

The metallic whips coming out of her arms turned back into tentacles, which lashed toward Tyler. In the same time, the latter suddenly felt everything afrond him becoming faster and himself getting slower. He didn't know how nor why he became so fast during this period, but he at least knew that it was now over, back to normal. To make it worse, the tiredness came back at the same moment, making him almost unable to move, and he felt as if he was going to faint any moment now.

But even then, it was already over, as he was now directly against the wall.

"Don't worry, you psychopathic bitch" he said as he chose his destination with the controls of the wall. "I'll definitly come back to kill you, so you better enjoy your last moments alive"

Yeah, he had fooled her, managing to deceive an ennemy that outclassed him in every possible stat, and reaching his initial goal. It was definitly a win to be proud of.

Yet, he wasn't satisfied, and he wouldn't be until Melia was dead, preferably in a painful way. That's why he added:

"Because a gentleman always keeps his word"

And with those words, he disappeared thanks to the Fenir technology in the wall, a single second before Melia's metallic tentacles destroyed it.

Meanwhile, in another part of the Party Hall, John was having a pleasant moment, talking and joking with another man in the bowling alley of the Party Hall. John threw his ball, performing an impressive strike, as the man beside him applauded.

"Haha, it looks like I once again won, Marten" John said with an humoristic, but polite tone.

"Haha, mister Grantz, I didn't remember you being such a good player at this game... nor such an appreciable person" Marten replied.
