Crystal's POV

After spending an entire day looking for people who could help, everyone was ready to take down Damian once and for all.

Bryan, Crystal, and Inpu had taken lead while the other demigods along with Inpu's army had been far enough away they wouldn't hear any conversations they had.

"So was sending Artemis to the underworld your best plan of action to keep him safe or have you finally gone crazy?" [Inpu]

"Neither, it was a strategy thing" [Crystal]

"How was it strategic? You sent him farther away" [Bryan]

"Simple, I talked about it with grandpa, if everything lines up correctly, my full plan should work" [Crystal]

"You going to explain your plan or no?" [Inpu]

"Nope, my plan will work better if I don't explain it because it partially runs off of instinct" [Crystal]

"Doesn't seem like it would work well then" [Inpu]

"Yeah, I have to agree with Inpu, running off of instinct could be a bad idea" [Bryan]

"Just trust me on this one, I know it will work" [Crystal]

"It's been a day since you sent him to the underworld, there is no chance he'll be back in time for it to work" [Inpu]

"That's what you think" [Crystal]

Inpu was clearly going to say something else, but by then they had arrived at a watch point before he could, so he instead went into focus mode.

After a few minutes of examining the area and trying to figure out a way in, they each made their way inside.

The army Inpu brought started to silently take out the scientists while the demigods made their way to the offices where most of the guards were and where Ajax and Damian were.

Everyone else fought off the guards which caused Damian and Ajax to both flee into a room that Crystal followed them to.

She was just in jackal form, crawling through a vent, when she bumped into another jackal.

"Artemis?"

"Crystal! I don't know if I should be happy to see you or mad that you sent me away"

"It was planned, don't worry about it, did grandpa give you the artifact?"

"You had him give it to me?"

"Yeah, it was going to be needed eventually, but I wasn't sure when, so I gave it to him until further notice"

"Alright then, what's the plan?"

"Simple, we corner them and attack, the two of them are the biggest threats, but they can't work together, so if we leave them in a situation where they need to cooperate, they can't do it"

"But what happens if they manage to be stronger than you think?"

"That's why you have the artifact, it should allow you to be on a similar power level as me so it shouldn't be much of an issue"

"So we're just going in loud and strong?"

"Yeah, pretty much, it sounds worse then it is"

"Do you think now is a good time to attack?"

"No, let them enter one of the offices first, that way the guards don't run from the army, the demigods from camp that decided to help, and our dads, they won't be able to yell out for help"

"Alright"

They both followed in the vents for a few more minutes until they finally entered an office.

Crystal managed to lock the door using her magic and both her and Artemis snuck down in the shadows, attempting to intimidate them.

Once the 2 of them noticed they were stuck, they tried to force the door open to no avail while the 2 jackals just moved so they were sitting on a large stack of boxes.

Ajax went into defense once he saw Crystal and Artemis and Damian started to hit the door harder, clearly trying to get out.

"Come on, little dogs, it doesn't need to end this way" [Damian]

"Does it? you took my childhood from me and my brother's original life from him" [Crystal]

"Personally, I'd like a taste of what a human heart tastes like, from what I've been told, to jackals like us it's a delicacy" [Artemis]

"Little boy, this is all a big misunderstanding, you don't need to attack us" [Damian]

"You took so much from us, what do you have that could give us back what you took from us?" [Artemis]

Before anyone could say anything, Ajax ran at Artemis, clearly trying to get a slice on him since he was using a sword.

No one had much time to react, so Crystal pushed Artemis out of the way, getting hit in the process, and pulled out her own sword so she could regain a good defense.

"Ajax, what are you doing, they could kill both of us!?!" [Damian]

"Simple, I'm not going to let all the work we've done go to waste because a couple of failures don't believe in our cause" [Ajax]

He raised his sword again, aiming for Crystal's throat, when a dagger made of shadows pierced his heart.

Upon looking in the direction the blade came from, Artemis laid there on the ground, his eyes had turned red from anger, his arm was pure shadow with lines of light with a few eyes on it, yet he was clearly exhausted from doing it.

Ajax's lifeless body just stayed on the ground, not moving, which caused both demigods to focus their attention to Damian.

"Please, just let me live, I didn't want to do this" [Damian]

"Bullshit, you've been working on this since I was a baby, there is no way in hell you weren't one to start this" [Crystal]

"I admit, I did want it at first, but once Ajax found out, he kept me working on this thi-" [Damian]

He couldn't finish what he was saying since Crystal used his rambling to get off the final hit for him.

And just like that, it was all over.

The 2 people they had been mostly worried about for years were both on the ground in front of them, dead.

They both just stood there, panting, trying to figure out what to do next before both of them ended up falling over.

Both of them were in pain and tired, but they both couldn't help but laugh at the irony.

The entire time they had planned it out, they expected more of a fight, but they both had given up by not trying to go for both of them right away.

The second they realized only one was going to fight them, they knew none of their expectations would be met.

After a few minutes, Crystal's healing kicked in and the healing aura started to heal both of them while they used their magics to unlock the door.

Both of them blanked out after that, all they could feel was the comfort of their parents.

When they woke up again, they were in the hospital wing at camp.

They would have been more stressed due to the stress in the environment, but they knew the finally had nothing to worry about, they were finally safe, and they wouldn't need to worry about them ever again.
