Sour Luck

Bryan's POV

2 years had passed, camp was mostly back to normal and it made everyone feel at home again.

The brypu family had mostly let go of what had happened 2 years ago as they were all safe.

On occasion, they would see someone from the facility, but usually the jackals would run at them and they would run away, so they never really worried.

It was late in the year (about August or September) so the kids were mostly enjoying the early fall late summer weather.

Crystal was practicing horse back riding so she could enter an upcoming race, Atlas was sparing with Inpu, Femi was reading a book, Lotus was making cookies in the kitchen but had a spot where they could watch Inpu and Atlas spar, and Bryan and Artemis were sitting in the garden with Artemis mostly just babbling.

Bryan couldn't help but watch Artemis as he played with the flowers, it was clear he felt an attachment to them like his father and just couldn't help but touch them.

'Gods, if only you knew the struggle we faced after you were born, even if you did know, you'd still be so unfazed based on how you can sense emotions'

Artemis kept playing with the flowers, grabbing the ones that were slightly drooping and giving them to Bryan, it seemed as if the moment would last forever.

Helios could be heard close by in the woods with Phoenix's barks close by, it didn't seem to bother Artemis, but he did look slightly confused.

Crystal got back so after and got off of Helios and put him back in his stall.

"Sister!" [Artemis]

He started trying to move towards Crystal, not getting very far.

"Someone clearly missed you when you went for your ride" [Bryan]

"I can see that, I wasn't gone for that long, why were you worried?" [Crystal]

"No warning" [Artemis]

She picked up Artemis and held him while Bryan walked up to both of them.

"Are the triplets done with what there doing yet?" [Crystal]

"Not sure, if they aren't there probably close to done, why?" [Bryan]

"I was going to take them to camp with me cause I promised aunt Momiji and uncle Ricarro that I'd watch Dina and Roja for them while they do a few things and figured the triplets would be ok coming with" [Crystal]

"Well, when you do eventually leave, keep Artemis here, I need to take him to the doctor today so he can get his last shot so he doesn't get sick" [Bryan]

"That shouldn't be an issue, I remember you saying he had it sometime this week, I just didn't fully know" [Crystal]

"Pa!" [Artemis]

Bryan grabbed Artemis from Crystal and he quickly gave Bryan a hug.

"I swear, even if he knew the craziness that went on after he was born, he'd still be just as happy as he is now" [Bryan]

"Yeah probably" [Crystal]

Crystal went to get the triplets and they left for camp soon after.

Bryan took Artemis and got a bunch of things done for the day and headed home.

When they got home, they found Inpu in the kitchen making dinner so Bryan put Artemis in the part of the room they had fenced off so he could play, then started to help Inpu make dinner.

Eventually, they got food in the oven and sat down at the table, They were just talking about what they did while Artemis took a nap because he was tired.

They were distracted with each other and didn't seem to notice that Artemis had woken up and was looking around the room for something.

Once Inpu noticed Artemis, he tried to see what he was looking for, but he couldn't see a thing.

"Whatcha looking for buddy?" [Inpu]

"Bad guy" [Artemis]

Inpu looked over at Bryan worried but looked back at Artemis.

"What do you mean by 'bad guy'?" [Inpu]

"Crissy said I could find bad guys, and one is near here" [Artemis]

"Artemis, you sister said it about herself, when were you able to do that?" [Bryan]

"I don't know, I was just able to" [Artemis]

Bryan went to pick up Artemis, when he noticed that Inpu had fallen unconscious, as he soon followed.

Before Bryan fell asleep, he could hear Artemis start to cry and saw someone walk in front of him.

Crystal's POV

Something didn't feel right to Crystal as she went home with her siblings, it almost felt as if she was going to walk in to a fight she couldn't win.

She was trying to stay calm and not let the triplets know, it was easier than letting them know, then having extra worry.

They got closer to the house, when Crystal noticed that Shade seemed to be asleep in the yard.

Crystal went to pick him up to move him into the house, then realized he was drugged, that's why he was asleep.

"You 3 stay out here, I want to check on something before you guys go in" [Crystal]

As she walked in, she made 3 daggers with her magic, not wanting to be caught off guard.

She could smell something from the kitchen so she went that way, and walked in and noticed that the oven was on.

It was simple tofu chicken, but she was suspicious, her fathers wouldn't leave the house without taking food out of the oven.

Phoenix was sniffing around the room, yet she was stuck in place when she got to Artemis' play area, where his favorite toy was still sitting.

Crystal began to panic, Artemis never left his toy, he or whoever was with him would usually hold it, it was never left unattended.

Eventually, she found a note left under the table, she barley read the full thing, she just read the part that said "we have both of your parents and your youngest brother" and she saw red.

She made a note that was to be sent to camp, she didn't want anyone else to suffer a similar fate, so she grabbed a fireproof casing and harness and sent Dove to camp with the note.

The triplets found out soon after and they all just sat in the living room thinking of what to do, they didn't feel safe but didn't want to hide in camp because of the camp history.

"I know dad owns a building in the human world, it's for his human realm donut shop and it has a  good sized apartment over it, we could stay there" [Lotus]

"I've seen the apartment, I wouldn't feel comfortable living there only because of where it is in the city, I know there is large farmland outside the city, we could probably get some for cheep, stay in the apartment while we have a house built, then move there and work at the donut shop" [Crystal]

"I wouldn't mind that, plus we could actually go to a real school and do some actual hero work since quirks are becoming more common there" [Atlas]

"You just want to go because it's somewhere you haven't been before, don't you" [Femi]

"Well, yeah, but I'd rather do it for those reasons and pretend the real reasons don't exist then accept it, I don't want to constantly think of the fact that our parents and baby brother are gone" [Atlas]

Crystal let out a sigh, she knew Atlas' reason was completely reasonable.

"I'm going to make a few calls and do a bit of paperwork, if you 3 can start packing whatever you can so we don't need to worry about it later, I'd be thankful" [Crystal]

The triplets just nodded and ran off, Crystal went to the office and started to plan to move houses.
