Delilah loved when Derek left open mouth kisses across her back.

They were always slow as they moved from the top of her shoulder and down her spine before travelling back up again. There was no distinct path, which is what made her anticipate each of his moves with a relaxed sigh and a fluttering of butterflies in her stomach.

He focused most of his time placing carefully formed kisses across the black ink on her back. It was slightly raised beneath his tongue, allowing him the ease to trace each curling spiral of the triskelion as if he were trying to embed it further into her skin than it already was.

How he could make drooling across her even semi-erotic was beyond her comprehension. But with that being said, she didn't have the heart to ask him to stop.

She was too content for that.

At this point in her placid state, it felt like Derek had been lavishing her with his attention for the greater part of the afternoon as they laid tangled together in front of the living room fireplace.

It was pure bliss and the only place she wanted to be just before the moon rose.

Delilah shuttered as her breath hitched as his blunt teeth scraped softly against her shoulder blade.

"If you're not careful, love, you'll leave a mark."

He chuckled lightly and replaced his teeth with his lips and continuing on his unplanned journey to map her skin.

Delilah smiled as she nuzzled into her crossed arms beneath her head. She was incredibly comfortable with her husband pressed into her bare side and the soft comforter from the bed tucked beneath them.

Derek carefully moved a handful of curls from where they had fallen haphazardly around her head and proceeded to lick the shell of her slightly pointed ear.

Delilah squealed as she tried to roll away to stop him from doing it again. He caught her by the waist and pulled her tightly into his chest as he braced himself on his side.

He wasn't ready to let her go yet. Not when she smelt like spring and sunshine and molded perfectly in his arms.

She was his and he was more than happy to show her.

Again, if need be.

Derek huffed loudly before bracing his teeth into the juncture of her neck. From there, he not only got to taste the salt on her skin, but he also could feel the thrum of her even pulse against his lips. It was perfect.

Delilah let out her own sigh before picking up his hand curled around her and settling it on her naked breast. She wanted to be as close to him as possible and in this position there was nothing more she could do other than physically burrow herself beneath his skin.

It helped that she was metaphorically already there.

They laid together in their tangled mess of limbs and hair as they watched the sun start to set against the trees of the preserve outside the living room window. The transition to the evening light was met with a beautiful sunset, haloed with a purple haze that faded into the dark of the night.

When the sun had disappeared entirely, Derek's teeth retracted from the soft grip on her skin before he peppered her neck in a series of butterfly kisses. He eventually slowed and buried his face into her curls.

"How are you love?" Delilah mumbled with her eyes cracking open the smallest amount as she embraced his continued nuzzling. She felt like a cat stretching in the sun with him.
