They watched her as she grew.

She never forgot them.

She would remember them every time she saw a boxer photo.

They may have been her parents pups long before they were hers, but they loved her like their own. The second she came home they adopted the small child into their pack.

Until their last breath they loved and protected their pack.

She may have gotten a new dog that loved her the moment he saw her. All three of the new pups did.

They knew one day the three dogs would join them in watching over their humans. Now was not the time.

The two dogs turned away from where they were watching in heaven because they knew their humans would be in safe hands.

Their new pups would keep them happy and loved until they too died after a fulfilling life.

The black one would keep the youngest human safe from harm first and foremost. He would protect all of the humans but his love was with his human girl. His best friend.

The white would do the same for his mother. He would protect her and love her. She was his best friend.

The smallest pup was undecided but whoever she choose to protect she would do it with the utmost loyalty and courage it would be undeniable who she loved.

Even if the first four were long gone the pack would always have some one to protect them. Never forgotten the memories would be cherished of the first dogs but the pups would help them to feel loved. If every they felt unwanted by the world they would be reminded by that one boxer pup that they would always have someone their for them; who believed in them with the utmost certainty that they would make the right choice.

Their humans were safe the two decided as they laid down to rest after a long day of fun in their puppy heaven.

The fawn boxers relived their fond memories in their sleep before waking up to a new day of fun.

"I love you," she whispered as she closed her eyes for the night. She knew she had new puppies that loved her but the memories of her first dogs would always stay.

Not going to lie I choked up when writing this. Its a tribute to my long gone pups but also to the ones who bring light to my life. My first dogs are part of my first memories and there they will always stay.

Always remember to love your lost ones.

I also must regret to inform you if you've never been loved by a boxer you've never been loved at all.
