"Of course father." I nod finishing my tea.

"You look very beautiful as usually Brynn." Father smiles looking at me.

Smiling I nod. "Thank you father." He nods and finishes up his breakfast and says goodbye to us telling us he'll see us later.

Legolas soon finishes not long after father and leaves not saying a word to me which doesn't faze me too much as he probably has a lot going on in his mind after everything father told him. After I finish the rest of my breakfast I leave the dining hall and walk though the kingdom. Entering my bedroom the guards shut my door while I go farther into my room I open the French doors I have and to my balcony that's connected to my room. Leaning on the ledge looking into the beautiful clear river that flows pass my room I let the sun warm skin up as if all just feels calming and relaxing. Closing my eyes the sun feels so nice against my body that I just wanna lay out here for the rest of the day and just soak in all the rays of the sun. Opening my eyes slowly I hear something making me fix my posture as I turn around to see father walking onto the balcony.

"Yes Father?" I ask bringing my attention back to the running water below.

"Have you seen Legolas?" He asks standing next to me also looking at the river.

"No, I haven't. Why?" I ask looking at him slightly.

"He was suppose to be back from checking our boarders and he hasn't. And no one as seen him." He explains. Nodding slowly I look away and sigh having a feeling where he is.

"I'm not entirely sure how accurate this will be, but I may have an idea on where he is." I say breaking the small silence.

"And that is?" He asks looking at me.

"When you ordered to close our doors to everyone, Legolas went to give the order to the elf guarding the kingdom gates, the guard mentioned that Tauriel has left and hadn't returned. I think he went after her." I explain not looking at him keeping my focus on the river flowing gently.

Hearing father sigh I know he's not happy with his son's actions, just like how he wasn't happy with my decision in helping Thorin on his quest. "Of curse he did, that doesn't not surprise me." He mumbles rubbing his temples.

"Are you gonna banish Legolas?" I whisper scared for my older brother.

"No, I will not banish my son from our home, I would never banish any of my kids no matter how much I dislike some of your decisions." He says as I look at him.

"What are you gonna do?" I ask.

"Have him come back as I will need him." Nodding I rest my head against his shoulder. He wraps his arm around me and holds me close to him just like he'd do when I was kid. "You miss them don't you?" He asks breaking the silence.

Nodding I look up at him. "I know you don't like dwarves and I know you're not happy with me being around them and helping, but they're nothing less than we are. I've grown very fond of them on this journey, even though it started out pretty rough I wouldn't change it for anything Father, meeting Bilbo was the best thing about this. He's just magnificent, even if he doesn't see it. He appreciates the beauty of nature and the simplicity of life." I smile softly remembering Bilbo talking about the Shire and how he misses his books, and his garden and just sitting on his steps having a pipe.

He smiles down softly and kisses my head gently knowing he'll always have this soft spot for his kids. Placing his chin on my head he rubs my back gently holding me close like I'm gonna leave him or disappear from him. "I was just worried about your safety, Brynn I will always be worried about you and your brother. You are my everything even if I don't show it I don't know what I'd do if I were to lose you two. All I want as a father, is to make sure you two are safe."

"I know Ada, I know." (Father/dad) I say softly looking up at him. He smiles and kisses my forehead tenderly. "I love you father."

"I love you too Brynn."

Enjoying this moment between us I close my eyes as the sun shines on us giving us both warmth that I cherish even more. Humming softly father continues to rub my back soothingly happy to have me back in his arms just as I am happy to be back in his arms.

*Time Skip to Few Days Later*

Walking through the halls I see guards rushing around the halls to whatever orders father has given, but they don't forget to stop and quickly bow showing me respect. Nodding to every elf that bows to me I finally make it to father's throne room to see him sitting on his chair dismissing some guards somewhere else. "Ada, what's happening?" (Father/dad) I ask making my way towards him.

"I'm taking provision to the people of Lake-town after getting attacked by Smaug." He answers.

"Lake-town got demolished by Smaug?" I ask.

"They did and now they are residing in the ruins of Dale, so I'm bringing them provisions."

"If you're just taking provisions to them Father, then why are you taking a bunch elven soldiers as-well?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Incase we run into some Orcs on our way to Dale."

"So it has nothing to do with the fact that Smaug is dead, and that Thorin Oakenshield is in Erebor?" Father does not answer me which is all I need to know about why the soldiers are coming. "You're gonna go to war with him?"

"If it comes to that then yes I will." He answers standing up looking at me.

"Over what? Gold?" I raise an eyebrow.

"No of course not, care not for the gold of Erebor. They're are precious gems in that mountain that have been withheld from me by Thorin's grandfather that are rightfully mine." He explains.

Staying quiet I stare at father unaware of what these precious gems are  and what they mean to him and now I'm curious as to why Thorin's grandfather, Thrór did not give my father the gems.
