Trigger warning: Just a little torture. I will be placing these signs '', '' before and after the scene.

Groaning under my breath as a loud knock awakes me from my peaceful dream, I quickly check my phone out of habit and ignore the multiple texts from Stefan regarding the deal Elena made with Elijah yesterday which I have to give her credit for, it was pretty smart. Looking at the time, I grumble under my breath as the numbers 8.05am mock me through my squinting eyes as the sunlight from my window shines behind my phone.

Throwing the comforter from my body, goosebumps instantly form on my exposed legs as I jump from my bed. Pulling down the shorts that have risen and twisted in my sleep, I quickly grab my white faux sheep fur blanket and wrap it around my cold body before making my way to my door.

Throwing the door open my blanket instantly falls from my shoulders as my lips part in shock at the man standing before me. Watching him lean down on one knee, I'm pretty sure I malfunction for a moment as I stare at the kneeling vampire. However, my befuddlement doesn't last long as he stands, my blanket in hand. Stepping closer, the proximity has my brain turning foggy with a blush on my cheeks as his musky yet expensive cologne invades my senses. Resting the soft wool on my shoulders, he seems hesitant to let go yet does so smoothly as he steps back looking me over in something akin to amusement shadowing concern.

"Thanks." I manage to whisper.

Smiling down at me, something in his posture seems... tense. Yet he manages to keep a cool face as his eyes don't waver from my tired form. "How are you feeling?"

"I-I'm okay."

"You turned last night." He states, his jaw clenching. Attractively might I add.

Swallowing thickly, my eyes cast down to the floor as snippets of last night replay in my head. "I did."

"I could hear your screams." He breaths out roughly, as if the words physically pained him.

Looking up at the vampire in shock, my brows furrow as I take in the distressed frown on his sculpted lips. He was there?

Seeming to sense my silent question, he slides his twitching hand in his trouser pocket and looks behind me in thought as he leans against my door. "I had to make sure you were alright. But I had to keep my distance seeing as you had company. Although, I am glad Mr. Salvatore was there to comfort you."

He looks as if he wants to say something else, but doesn't. Wanting to question why he cares for me so much, I pause and think twice before asking such a question as I realise this could perhaps work in my favour if I play my cards right. I'll just have to be cautious with my own actions, I think, as I attempt to push away the fluttering feeling in my stomach at his words.
