Most of the characters are documented in the historical record. However, most of the events are fictitious, which means that the development of these historical figures has been deliberately altered in this story.
An Aurelia never existed in this form in the life of Emperor Caligula. She springs from my imagination alone.
One last technical note: At the end of the book there is a glossary and an overview with the translations of the Latin introductory quotations will follow at a later date.
