Aftermath

The emptiness and silence in here was nerve wracking and I shifted in weight in my seat until he broke the silence with another apology.

"I'm sorry."

"You already apologized, what's this for?"

"No, I'm sorry for everything I put you through up until now... especially when we were kids."

I sharply inhaled through my nose before exhaling as I hunched my body over and rested my forearms on my thighs. "You left me all alone when we were at our most weakest and lowest moments. You left me when I really needed someone after Shisui's death," my voice cracked and I tightened my hands into fists. "You know... I started to despise you a little when you joined the Akatsuki. You joined an organization who took almost everything from me."

His face contorted into a disheartening expression and I could clearly see the regret in his charcoal eyes.

"I was... in a vulnerable state after my clan's death and with everything Itachi said to me that night, I only sought revenge. But that's not the case anymore, I'm gonna hold onto you now."

~Two Months Later~

"Congratulations!!!" Excitedly shouted Naruto, Sakura and I as the two of them threw some confetti in the air while I held out a bouquet of flowers for Kakashi Sensei.

He no longer covered his eye with his mask, so we could clearly see both of his eyes widen. "What's this for?"

"We heard the news! You're being appointed as the Sixth Hokage!" I placed the bouquet of flowers in his hands and Naruto squeezed us in together and whipped out a camera.

"Say cheese!" He gleefully shouted and he made sure everyone was in the frame before we heard a click and the picture was taken.

"Let me see," I grabbed the camera from his hands with the others peering over me.

Kakashi Sensei had his eyes closed although we could tell he was smiling under that mask of his while the rest of us had a cheerful smile on our lips with our arms around each other.

But I kept looking at myself to make sure I didn't come out looking weird in the picture, but the longer I stared at it, I became uncertain and kinda wanted to ask to retake the picture because I ain't photogenic.

"It came out good!" Sakura clapped her hands together in delight and grabbed the camera from my hands.

"Come on (Y/n)," urged Sakura as she pulled me towards her and held up a peace sign. I placed my elbow on her shoulder and smiled at the camera as it clicked and captured the image of us.

"Now one more!" Sakura pulled Naruto next to me and backed away a couple of feet. "Get close you two!"

'Sakura... you...'

I did as she said and wrapped an arm around his waist while he wrapped both arms around my waist and pressed his cheek against mine as he gave the camera a dazzling smile. I chuckled as I eyed Naruto from the corner of my eyes and the camera clicked and I whipped my head towards Sakura.

"Hey! I wasn't ready!" I protested.

"But it came out so cute!" She squealed.

I placed a hand over my face to cover up the embarrassment I was feeling all while she continued to tease me.

~Two Months Later~

The village roared as they chanted and clapped their hands for their newly appointed Sixth Hokage who waved at the crowd of people from atop of the Hokage's Tower.
