"SSR. Open up." Sousa shouted as he knocked on the door. His eyes flickered down to Evelyn, who stood in front of Jack.

A playful smile came onto the girls face as she took his hat from his head, whilst Sousa repeatedly knocked on the door still waiting for an answer.

Jack wrapped his arms around the girl, lifting her off of the ground causing her to let go of a small squeal. He placed her back on the ground and adjusted the hat to sit on her head properly before saying,

"It looks good on you."

Evelyn couldn't help but blush at the few words, it caused her heart to skip a few beats. Her nose scrunched up slightly, causing Jack to lightly tap it. A loud bang on the door caused her to jump and cling onto Jack's bicep.

"Unbelievable." Sousa scoffed sarcastically. "A known fugitive isn't answering his door."

"Knock harder." Jack responded bluntly, his fingers tracing patterns on her biceps. The brunette had to bite back a smile as his fingers danced over her skin, causing the cliche butterflies.

"Sure. Can I borrow your forehead?" Sousa replied with the same amount of sarcasm.

Jack motioned for the man to move before making a fist and knocking on the door. Evelyn smiled as she watched Jarvis walk towards the door, she hadn't seen the man in a while.

"Good afternoon, gentlemen, Miss Barnes. How may I help you?" Jarvis questioned, smiling towards the familiar brunette.

"Afternoon. Agents Thompson and Sousa, and Doctor Barnes with the SSR." Jack went to reach up for his hat only to remember that it wasn't there, so instead he placed his hand on Evelyn's shoulder.

"If you're looking for Mr. Stark, I'm afraid he's indefinitely unavailable." Jarvis announced, looking towards Evelyn, who had a sympathetic smile on her face.

Evelyn furrowed her brows once she saw the bag on the small round table in the middle of the hallway. It was the very bag that she leant to Peggy just last week. Her eyes flickered up and down Jarvis, assessing his behaviour. He was slightly on edge and Evelyn couldn't help but assume that it was because Peggy was there.

"We're well-aware of that, Mr. Jarvis. That is your name, isn't it?" Sousa questioned, he didn't even give Jarvis a chance to respond before continuing, "Mr. Edwin Jarvis?"

"Eddie?" Evelyn questioned softly, her hand resting on Jack's bicep. "Do you mind if I come in and get a glass of water? I'm feeling rather faint."

Jarvis looked down at her panicked, she was one of Howard's closest friends. He had known her since their days back on the Rebirth Project. But if anything, he knew that she was a good and trustworthy person.

"Of course, Miss Barnes, would you like me to escort you?" Jarvis questioned at the same time Jack asked,

"Are you okay, Evie?" with concern was written all of his face. He placed his hands on her bicep, ready to lift her into his arms at a moments notice if needed.

Evelyn smiled towards both men, thankful that they were both concerned about her, despite it all being a ploy just to get inside and see if Peggy was there.

"I'll be fine. Just don't leave without me, Lieutenant." Evelyn took off Jack's hat and placed it on top of his head.

"I'd never leave you behind, you know that, Doc." Jack responded confidently, watching as the girl walked herself into the house.

Evelyn looked around the hallway, until her eyes landed on Peggy, who had decided to hide behind a plant. The girl had to remind herself not to laugh. Peggy brought her finger up to her lips, hoping that Evelyn would be quite about her being there.

The brunette walked to the kitchen and ran the faucet for a moment as if she was getting herself a drink. She looked around the kitchen, not much had changed since she was last there. Not that she really expected it too, The Jarvis' were very particular about their taste.

Evelyn made a mental note to check up on Ana later on, she hadn't seen or spoken to the woman in a while. She took another glance around and waited a minute or so before returning. She slowly nodded towards Peggy and then placed her hand on Jarvis' bicep and said,

"Much appreciated, thank you, Eddie."

Jack smiled towards the girl, thankful that she was okay. He placed his hand on her waist and pulled her back into him. Evelyn placed her hand over his, tracing small patterns. It was something that didn't go unnoticed by Jarvis or Sousa.

"Look, Mr. Jarvis, I can call a judge and wait here to get a warrant." Jack spoke up, continuing from their previous conversation. "But honestly, it's almost lunchtime, and I'm hungry. Plus I promised Evie that I'd buy her lunch today." Jack looked down at the girl, noticing the way she smiled, probably happy that he didn't forget. "So, how would you like to take a ride downtown?"

Jarvis let go of a small huff, knowing that it was his only option or Peggy would have been caught. The only reason he allowed Evelyn inside was because he trusted her and so did Peggy.

"Well, lead the way." Jarvis nodded as Jack lead them towards the car. "Well, this will be novel. I haven't been in the back of a car in years."

Evelyn chuckled at the man, Sousa had climbed in the back with Jarvis whilst Jack opened the passenger door for Evelyn to climb into.

"Thank you." She whispered with a smile as she looked up to him.

Jack smiled towards the girl before rushing round to the drivers side. He started up the engine and watched as she leant forward to put on the radio.

"I'll take you dancing again real soon, I promise, Evie." Jack whispered, lightly tapping her hand to gain her full attention.

Evelyn couldn't help but smiled at the promise. She hoped he intended to keep it. She loved dancing and Jack was a great partner. She anxiously chewed her bottom lip before saying,

"That's a promise you best keep, Agent."
