Jack brought his hand up to knock on the large wooden door of the girls home. It was one of Howard Starks mansions, which made him wonder if she got lonely living there since she had no family.

He made sure to hide the roses behind his back as the door swung open and revealed Evelyn in a red dress. His eyes flickered up and down her, the dress showed some cleavage and ended a little higher than the skirts that she wore to work did.

Evelyn cleared her throat and allowed a cocky smiled to form on her face as she fiddled with the silver heart clasp necklace. She leant against the door frame and watched as Jack's eyes flickered up and down her.

"Are those for me, Agent Thompson?" Evelyn whispered sweetly as she noticed the flowers peaking out from behind him.

Jack coughed and handed the girl the flowers as a light blush made its way to his face. He didn't know why he was becoming so flustered, especially since this was just for the mission.

"They are." Jack nodded, trying to regain his confidence. "You look beautiful tonight, Evie."

Evelyn stood up straight and walked back inside the house, leaving Jack stood there confused. He waited a minute before entering and noticed that the girl was putting the flowers in some water.

He looked around the house, it was beautiful, he sure wouldn't mind living in a place like this some day. He couldn't help but wonder who decorated the house, whether it was her or Howard.

Jack pursed his lips and looked up at the light coloured walls and nodded. Evelyn definitely decorated it. She had a very specific taste and that was opposite Howard's.

"Come on, Lieutenant. We've got to go dancing." Evelyn said as she linked her arm with Jack's and a smile made it's way to her face.

Evelyn loved dancing, before the War, Steve and Bucky used to take the girl along with them on their dates so that she could go dancing. Normally, someone asked her to dance and if not, Steve would.

The brunette looked up towards Jack, wondering if they would actually dance tonight or if she was just going to be used as a distraction for the mission. Part of her hoped that he would ask her to dance, it had been a long time since she last danced.

The drive to La Martinique was in complete silence, Jack was driving but he found it hard to keep his eyes on the road and not on Evelyn. Evelyn on the other hand, kept her eyes on Jack the whole ride. His blue suit complemented him well, his hair was combed back like usual and Evelyn couldn't help but notice how his hazel eyes sparkled in the low light.

Jack made his way around to the passenger side as they arrived at La Martinique, he opened the door for the girl and held out his hand to help her out. Evelyn smiled back in response and took his hand as she exited the car.

Both Yauch and Krzeminski we're both waiting outside of the nightclub for the pair. Jack had instructed them to wait for him before going inside and that he wanted to get Evelyn alone.

"Hello, boys." Evelyn smiled and offered the pair a small wave as their eyes scanned her up and down.

Jack shot them both a glare, placing his hand on the small of Evelyn's back and pulling her closer to him protectively. No one was going to lay a finger on her tonight, not a stranger wanting to dance with her, not a buyer or Howard's investors and not even one of his own boys that he worked along side.

Evelyn chuckled as she looked up to Jack, his jaw was clenched but his eyes were solely focused on the front door. She linked her hand with his and pulled him into La Martinique. with a small giggle.

"You boys got a warrant, or are you just here to socialise?" The concierge questioned as he made his way towards the four.

Jack slowly unbuttoned his blazer and showed his gun that was in his holster before cockily saying,

"Both, you don't mind if we take a look around, do you?" Jack raised his brows curiously, making the concierge nod and go to talk to his superior.

The brunette looked around with a smile as she watched everyone dancing, it reminded her of simpler times. Times before the war, before she lost the two most important men in her life.

Jack noticed the way the girls smile dropped and furrowed his brows. He placed his hand out in front of her and kept his head forward, he didn't bother to look down at her.

Evelyn let a small smile form on her face a she placed her hand in his. He pulled her towards the dance floor and span her around. His hand rested on the small of her back, whilst her hand rested on his shoulder.

Jack gently swayed the pair to the beat of the music. Evelyn kept looking up at him, but whenever she did, Jack adverted his gaze. The brunette furrowed once she saw the blonde make her way down the stairs, Evelyn couldn't help but thing that she looked an awful lot like Peggy.

"Sir, you're needed." The concierge said as he made his way over to Jack and Evelyn.

The pair pulled away and follows the concierge to Raymond's office. Jack kicked open the door, holding his gun in front of him and his other arm was outstretched to keep Evelyn behind him.

Evelyn let out a small gasp once she saw Raymond laid on the floor with a bullet wound in the middle of his head. Jack quickly grabbed the girl and pulled her into his chest, hoping that she didn't see much. He felt Evelyn grip onto his shirt as his hand cupped the back of he head.

"Maybe we shouldn't have spent all that time changing our clothes." Krzeminski uttered as he looked down at Raymond dead body.

"Seal the damn exits." Jack ordered, placing his gun back into the holster and slowly guiding Evelyn out of Raymond's office.
