Chapter 13

I fell down on my knees with the paper on my hand. Tears streamed down my face as I read what was written on the paper. It's a birth certificate of a person named Mascimo Vincente Climente Arellano. My heartbeat's racing as if I ran a marathon. I found the birth certificate on my mother's cabinet.

I want to tell myself that it was just a lie but my mother and father's name was on the paper as Mavi's parents. It was enough evidence... it was enough to tell that I have a sibling! I have a brother and he's older than me.

I should be happy but I feel broken and I don't know why. I feel sad knowing that my parents kept this from me for so many years. Mavi's four years older so that only means that he's 21 years old now.

I cried my heart out while holding the paper. Should I call Mavi and ask him to meet or should I call my parents first for an explanation. For God's sake, I deserve an explanation!

I need a proof before I face my parents. They can't fool me this time because I saw it with my own eyes. I won't let this slide kahit na ano pang sabihin nila. I am hurt, broke, and desperate. I want to meet my brother, I want them to say right in front of me the whole story... I want the freaking truth! I am tired of it. I want truth this time.

"Beige, may bisita ka!"

I was contemplating my decisions while lying on bed when I heard Ate Maris' voice.

Hindi niya kilala kung sino pero I assume that it's a guy.

I said to Ate Maris that I can take care of the visitor so she left me alone. I let out a sigh as I faced the big doors. I opened it slowly and my eyes widened a fraction when I saw a familiar face in front of me. He has dimples, we both have fair skin, and we almost had the same eyes only that his stares are a bit deep and intimidating. He's wearing a formal attire and he's also holding a bouquet of flowers.

My eyes started to water when I remembered something. His body has the same built with the person I saw while I was walking around the village. He's also the person I saw at school when I was on my way to the library.

"H-Hi..." I stammered because I was too nervous and overwhelmed.

"Beige."

I put my head on his chest as I sobbed hard. I just saw him this close, yet I already felt the comfort a family can only give. I sound like a kid but that doesn't stop me from hugging my brother.

"It's me... Mavi," he whispered that made me cry more. I should be confused and asking questions right now but here I am, hugging him as if he'd vanish if I let go.

He said he's still not ready to enter this big house because even though we have the same parents, he still didn't grow in this kind of lifestyle. He grew in a different family with different lifestyle.
