Chapter 11

"Reign!" Tumigil ako sa paglalakad nang may marinig sa aking likuran. I turned around and saw Renz looking so out of breath. 

"You're running?" I asked the obvious.

"Oo! Nagmamadali ka ba? Ang bilis mo maglakad, ah!" sabi niya habang nagpupunas ng pawis gamit ang likod ng kamay niya. Kinapa ko ang bulsa ko at kinuha ang panyo para pahiramin siya.

"Oh, magpunas ka muna nang maayos. By the way, why did you follow me?" I asked while watching him wipe his sweat off. He heaved a deep sigh and then he scratched his nape like he's struggling to say some words. "Ano?" I snapped. He pouted. "Ano? Say it louder, Renz."

He looked so nervous in front of me. Hindi siya gumagalaw at parang... hindi na yata siya humihinga! Oh my gosh! Inilapit ko ang mukha ko sakaniya at hinawakan ko ang dibdib niya para malaman kung maayos pa ba ang paghinga niya.

"Are you okay?" I asked while feeling his heartbeat.

"H-Huh... O-oo!" He looked like he was about to cry when he softly removed my hold. Tinitingnan ko pa rin siya to make sure na ayos lang talaga siya.

Pauwi na dapat ako ngayon dahil may dinner kami kasama na naman ang mga Cavallero. Hindi ko alam at parang napapadalas yata 'yon. Minsan nga ay tinatanong ko si Mommy kung bakit halos sunod-sunod ang dinner. Ang sagot niya lang ay para mag-celebrate.

Celebrate? So, sunod-sunod pala ang achievements nila Daddy at Mr. Cavallero para mag-dinner kami palagi nang magkakasama.

Gusto kong tanggihan si Renz pero alas dos palang naman ng hapon at matagal pa ang dinner. Pwede pa akong manood ng laro niya kahit kaunting minuto lang. Nakakaawa kasi siyang tingnan ngayon sa harapan ko.

"Oo, sige. Manonood ako," sabi ko kaya napangiti siya nang sobra. He was about to pull me for a hug because of so much excitement when my phone rang. Lumayo tuloy siya sa 'kin. I sighed heavily before getting my phone out of my tote bag.

Tumingin muna ako kay Renz bago sagutin ang tawag ni Mommy. He smiled at me excitedly and I smiled back.

"Hello, Mommy?" Bahagya akong lumayo sa kay Renz to have some privacy with my mom.

 [Anak!]

"Yes po?" I nervously asked because I already have an idea on why she suddenly called me when she doesn't really do this because it's her office hours. Pero nakalimutan kong naka-leave nga pala si Mommy kasi paghahandaan niya raw ang dinner.

[Tapos na ba ang klase mo, hija?] malumanay niyang tanong.

 "Yes, Mom. And by the way—"

[That's good, then. I already sent Reese to pick you up because I saw your schedule earlier.] Si Mommy na halatang tuwang-tuwa at excited. Napapikit ako dahil naisip ko kung paano na ako makakapunta sa laro ni Renz kung susunduin ako ni Reese?!

I glanced at Renz and saw him patiently waiting for me while greeting some of our classmates. They were even teasing him for waiting me and he would just deny it so hard as if it's a sin to be teased because of me.

"Mom, I'm going to watch—" Hindi na ako pinatapos pa ni Mommy sa pagsasalita dahil alam niyang may pang-kontra ako.

 [Just wait Reese at the parking...] she said and then I heard her saying something from the other line. Nag-uutos yata.

When the line ended, I went to Renz with an apologetic look. I was already so sorry for him but I realized that I can just tell Reese to roam somewhere else while I watch Renz's game. Kahit 10 minutes lang!

Nagbago ang mood ko nang maisip na pwede nga 'yon! I can do that!

"Ano? Tara na?" he asked carefully dahil siguro inisip niya na pa-u-uwiin na ako at hindi na makakanood ng game niya.
