19-here for you

Her eyes and mouth were fixed in an expression of stunned surprise, gazing straight at him. His brain momentarily stuttered, and his eyes took in more light than she expected. Every part of him seemed to pause as his thoughts caught up.

"Would you like to talk about it? Maybe it would help to relieve some of the pain," he spoke with a sense of masking his own shock and pain.

"I want you to know what happened, but I don't know how to tell you..." she paused, looking down as her hands began to crumble. "After my parents passed away, I lost all my connections, all my friends... my parents were my best friends, but they are nowhere to be found right now."

She began to have panic attacks every day, and her asthma worsened. "Without my medication, I can hardly..." Her words were cut short by a strong yet gentle gesture. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close and rubbing her arm. Despite the heaviness in her stomach, she felt a flutter at the sensation of his body pressed against hers.

She sank into the warmth of his embrace, grateful for the simple gesture. Ignoring her naked body, and how much he wanted to hug her skin to skin. He wanted to feel every inch of her with his own skin, but it wasn't the time. Somehow, his touch made the bathroom feel warmer, and her future within its walls seemed a little less bleak.

"I am sorry I couldn't protect you and watch over you. I am sorry for making you go through this alone," he spoke, his words breaking her heart even more. Little did he know, she had already conquered her fears, and her nightmares no longer haunted her. She no longer needed medication to get through the day.

"I wish I had chosen you before all of this," he added.

"Jake, please don't blame yourself," she pleaded.

"No," he said, hugging her tighter. "I won't let myself be your healer, y/n. Let me be by your side. I promise I will never hurt you in any way. I promise."

Her trembling voice broke the silence, "Can you let me wash now?" Her words echoed through the small bathroom, a slight blush painted her cheeks when she realized that she was still upper body naked under his gaze, while he didn't care about it somehow.

"Of course, take your time," he replied gently, his hands moving away from her back as he stood up. He leaned down to kiss her forehead before walking out to change the sheets.

As he left the bathroom, he couldn't help but smile at how cute she was. She had always been the kind of person who put others first and cared for them deeply. Her quiet strength and resilience never ceased to amaze him. A knock on the door was heard before he barged in, handing her a towel his eyes never leaving the ground as he did, "Y/n take this towel to dry yourself "

"Thank you " she whispered from the other hand of the wall.

As she took the towel from him, she couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort wash over her. He was always there for her, even in the smallest of ways. It was the little things, like handing her a towel, that reminded her that he cared for her deeply.

He sat down next to her, their shoulders touching as they leaned against the wall. They sat there in silence for a while, the only sound was the sound of water droplets falling from her hair onto the tiled floor.

"Are you okay?" he asked softly, breaking the silence.

She nodded, unable to find the words to express how she was feeling. There were so many emotions swirling inside of her, fear, sadness, and anger, but she couldn't bring herself to voice any of them.

He sensed her hesitation and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close. "It's okay," he whispered, "you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."

She leaned into him, taking comfort in his warmth. He was her rock, the one constant in her life, and she knew that she could always count on him to be there for her.

As they sat there, lost in their own thoughts, she couldn't help but think about how lucky she was to have him in her life. He was her soulmate, the one person who understood her completely, and she knew that she would be lost without him.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she found the words she had been searching for. "Thank you," she whispered, "for always being there for me."

He smiled, his eyes shining with warmth and affection. "I'll always be here for you," he replied, his voice soft and reassuring.

At that moment, she knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be, with the person she was meant to be with. With him by her side, she knew that she could face anything that life threw her way.

There was kindness in his smile, a gentleness. It was the smile of one who laughed with ease and saw a person under the behavior, a soul connector. He's the kind of person who lived how he believed people should as if he were sunshine that only radiated from the best aspects of those he met, their flaws entirely invisible to his gaze.

He was a calm sea, dancing birdsong and the new buds of spring. Yet, most of all, he was her soulmate.

"Can you stay with me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Of course," he replied, sitting down next to her and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. They sat there in silence, her head resting on his shoulder as he held her close.

At that moment, he knew that he would always be there for her, no matter what. Her presence filled him with a sense of calm and purpose, and he was grateful to have her in his life. They stayed like that for a while, lost in their own thoughts, but comforted by each other's presence.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She knew she needed to tell him what had happened, but the thought of reliving the crash was almost too much to bear. "I know you want to hear about the crash, I can see the questions in your brain as if they were cartoon birds flying around your skull, but I'm not sure if I can tell....."

"Just be yourself, and try to feel comfortable," he said as she lazily nodded her head, not sure about it
