THE NEXT DAY

"Where did these bruises come from?" Y/N stood in front of the mirror, she noticed the unexpected bruises on her chest and the sides of her neck. Confusion filled her mind as she tried to recall any possible causes for the marks.

She couldn't remember having any vitamin deficiencies or skin allergies, and she was certain that she hadn't sustained any injuries. The origin of the bruises remained a mystery.

Frustrated and unable to find an explanation, she let out a sigh and reached for the side cabinet. Retrieving some medicine, she carefully applied it to the affected areas, hoping for a speedy recovery. "Hope this will heal faster," she murmured to herself, hoping for a positive outcome.

After tidying up the sink, she wrapped a towel around her naked body and left the bathroom, to get dressed and ready to start her day.

Y/N entered the kitchen with the intention of preparing breakfast for both the busy men. Knowing it was Monday, she anticipated their rush to start their work routine for the week. However, she was surprised to find that Taehyung had already made his morning coffee.

"Good morning, bear. I already made my coffee before you came," he greeted her, seemingly pleased with his own preparation. She couldn't help but feel a bit taken aback, thinking that he could have called her to bring him his morning caffeine fix.

"Taehyung, you could've called me instead of--"

"No," he interrupted, his tone firm. "I didn't come here for you to always be my maid. I'm an adult and capable of preparing things for myself, unlike someone else."

Curious about who he was referring to, she followed Taehyung's gaze and saw the other man coming downstairs, dressed impeccably in an Armani suit. Both men exuded a certain aura in their office attire, giving them an iconic look.

"Good morning, y/n," greeted Jungkook as he took his seat, leaving a space between him and Taehyung. The two men exchanged a brief glance before quickly diverting their gazes. She proceeded to pour Jungkook his usual strong and bitter coffee, adding a single cube of sugar to balance out the taste.

It was clear that their preferences for food and beverages differed greatly. Jungkook enjoyed everything with a strong flavor, while Taehyung preferred lighter tastes. She couldn't help but wonder if the coffee Taehyung was drinking was more cream than actual coffee.

Leaving the dining area, she retreated to the kitchen to prepare garlic butter toast and strawberry pancakes. It seemed a bit unusual to have garlic in the morning, but Jungkook seemed to enjoy it. On the other hand, Taehyung had a sweet tooth, hence the decision to make strawberry pancakes.

After about 10 minutes, she emerged from the kitchen with the breakfast prepared, serving their respective favorites. For herself, she made some butter toast, keeping it simple.

The three of them sat together, ready to enjoy their breakfast. Jungkook sat across from her, while Taehyung occupied the seat next to her. They ate in silence, not exchanging any words. She noticed Jungkook multitasking, eating while also reading emails on his tablet.

"Bear, can you pass me the syrup?" Taehyung requested, and she nodded in response. As she reached for the syrup bottle, she accidentally dropped it. "Ow...sorry," she whispered, quickly bending down to retrieve the bottle. After picking it up, she passed it to Taehyung.

In the process of bending down, some of her hair fell into her mouth, causing annoyance as she tried to eat. Taehyung chuckled at the sight and reached out to brush her hair away from her eyes, gently pushing it back to her shoulder. In doing so, he noticed something on her neck.

"Y/n, what is this?" Taehyung questioned, his gaze fixed on her neck. Confused, she looked at him, wondering what he was referring to. It was then that she realized he was talking about the bruises on her neck. She understood that he couldn't see the ones on her chest due to her boat neckline.

All this time, it was just her and Taehyung at the table, with Jungkook completely absorbed in his emails. Taehyung's question about the bruises on her neck prompted him to come closer, showing concern as he examined the marks.

"Tae, what are you doing?" she asked, her voice filled with confusion.

Taehyung gently held her jaw, tilting her head up for a better view. However, he abruptly let go and withdrew his hand, his gaze turning sharp and intense, a clear sign of his anger.

"Y/n, Are those hickeys?" Jungkook, who had been engrossed in his own world, seemed to suddenly realize something, choking on the air before quickly covering it up with a cough.

"I think I got the answer" Taehyung whose gaze fixed on Jungkook, spoke up with a knowing tone. His words hung in the air, causing a tense silence to settle over the room. It was evident that he had figured the reason for her bruises, and his attention didn't slip from Jungkook.

"I'm running late for office" Realizing that he was running late for work, Jungkook glanced at his watch and swiftly got up from the table. His footsteps were sharp and hurried as he made his way out of the house, leaving behind an air of tension. Taehyung let out a sigh and shook his head, clearly disappointed by the situation unfolding before him.

"It's better if I remove myself from this situation," Taehyung muttered under his breath, his words barely audible. He stood up from his seat, grabbed his briefcase, and left the house without uttering another word.

The silence that followed their departures filled the room, leaving her alone with her thoughts and the lingering questions about the bruises on her neck.

'What happened to these both to behave strangely? And Taeytung said these bruises were some keys?...wait hi-keys?...no it doesn't sound as he said, heckeys?..no it is not. Is it hickeys?..yes hickeys and what do hickeys mean? Is it some type of bruise?'

Taehyung's mention of hickeys left her puzzled, unsure of what they really meant. As she pondered over the situation, she realized that she wouldn't be able to find the answers on her own. Deciding to put her thoughts aside for now, she focused on her cleaning tasks, hoping that some clarity would eventually come.
