She nodded and I think my heart was about to pop out of my chest.

I cleared my throat..."May I?" I asked to hold her waist.

She smiled sweetly as she said, "Yes, you may."

I slowly slid my palms along her back and settled at her waist while she hung on to my shoulders for support.

We looked at each other with eyes open as we slowly smiled in contentment.

Everything felt so perfect.

I dared to delve closer as I tried to memorize every contour of her face, from her long lashes to her plump red lips.

She suddenly moved in closer as well and I thought I have died and gone to heaven.

I felt like we were attending our high school prom.

She leisurely moved her head lower as I followed her as well.

Our foreheads connected and I blushed furiously.

Why did the room suddenly feel so hot?

As the song ended, I thought to myself that what did I do to deserve such happiness.

Aah!

We kept on holding to each other even after the song had ended.

I did not even realize that Giussepina and Alberto have left the room and have been keeping themselves busy in the kitchen to give us our privacy.

This night was so majestic.

"I don't want to let go." I whispered.

"I don't want to let you go." I said a little louder this time.

Dare I say I want to look courageous.

She looked at me happily smiling as she was about to open her mouth and answer me when her phone rang.

"I..." she looked at the caller ID, and then to me.

"I need to answer this. I'll be right back."

She hurriedly accepted the call as she stepped out of the restaurant.

"Hey Rico," she happily said to the person on the other line.

"No, I'm not busy. Go ahead."

I heard her say as my heart broke for the second time today.
