The waiting room was occupied by the Clarks and Avery. Annabelle was playing games on Eli's phone whilst she sat comfortably on his lap. Mr and Mrs Clark we're talking quietly with one another. Avery sat on the opposite side of the room staring at everyone.

This was her fault, she believed.

Timothys wife was on her way with their daughter. Avery had bitten off all of her nails.

She had called Nami but she was in Phoenix with Joshua and they were on their way over.

Both Ian and Timothy were in surgery. Timothy being in worst shape than Ian.

Where Ian had a simple shoulder surgery. Timothy was facing extensive surgery to remove the bullet lodged in him. The head trauma and the blood loss was the EMS personnel's biggest concern when Avery was in the back of the car with him. Tim wasn't very much responsive when she rode with him here.

Two hours later, a doctor with a clipboard came in and called out his name.

Everyone in the room stood up. But Avery realized that she wasn't immediate family so she sat back down.

"He's out of surgery. He'll be groggy for a little bit but in thirty minutes or so, you can go see him. I'll have a nurse come get you." He nodded and grabbed the door handle to leave. But Mr. Clark stopped him and the two of them walked out together.

Like the doctor promised, a nurse came to get them thirty minutes later. Again, the whole family stood up to follow him out.

He frowned at Elijah for a moment before shaking his head.

"Only immediate family at the moment." He said and Eli stepped forward.

"I'm his brother, you wench." He glared and the nurse looked at Mr. and Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Clark let out a sigh.

"You've never seen unidentical twins before? Take me to my son please." She ordered.

The nurse nodded in embarrassment before opening the door to lead them out.

"Well don't just sit there, let's go see our guy, Avery." Eli turned to her and waited until Avery stood up from her seat and followed them out.

A million questions were thrown at Ian all at once and her could barely answer any of them.

Avery stayed in her own corner of the room.

"Mom, I'm fine." He reassured his mother and Avery's hands balled up in a fist.

How could he say that? He was not fine. He was shot a quarter inch of his life and he was pretending that he was fine.

"Uh, excuse me, you just came out of surgery, I don't think you're fine, man." Eli shook his head.

"Well, I am fine and they took the object out of my shoulder." Ian emphasized on object before glancing down on Annabelle that was still playing games on Eli's phone.

"Did the police get the guy?" Mr. Clark asked and Ian shook his head no.

"He left before the police got to the gallery."

"Do you know his name? What he wanted?" Mr. Clark asked and Ian nodded.

"Yeah, Jack Levenson, a guy from Avery's past in the system." Ian informed
