*I had finals and then I had to move back home and I needed a break. Sorry I was MIA but I have returned :).

Avery pushed Ian away before staring at him with wide, terrified eyes.

"What-" Ian stared back at her, a bit speechless. Whatever Avery was going for threw him off guard and he moved causing their lips to collide.

"What was that?" Ian composed himself.

"You moved!" Avery accused.

She wasn't going for anything that would've resembled a real kiss. She just wanted to show gratitude.

"I'm sorry?" Ian frowned.

"I wasn't trying to kiss you." Avery shook her head. "Well, I was, but like on the cheek but you moved!"

"And why were you trying to kiss my face at all in the first place?"

"Because I wanted to show gratitude."

"By kissing me?" Ian frowned.

"On the cheek," Avery defended rather pathetically.

"Right," Ian nodded slowly.

All awkward aside, Avery was concerned now for her job due to her lack of professionalism.

"Am I fired?" She asked softly.

"No," Ian shook his head as he thought. "But maybe refrain from locking lips with your bosses." He frowned.

"I can do that," she nodded with an awkward chuckle.

"I appreciate that," Ian nodded before stepping aside so Avery could walk away.

The two of them returned to work in separate directions. Avery dove right back into the busy lunch rush and Ian resides in his office with paperwork and making short appearance to talk to club members.

In their conversation, one thing neither Avery nor Ian brought up was the fact that they both remained in their kiss for a few second before Avery pulled away.

Avery never goes home during her meal break when she's working at the club. But today, she decided to. One was to avoid Ian as much as she could. Two was to talk to Nami about it.

Avery closed the door to her apartment behind her before calling out her roommates name.

"Nami!" She ran towards the room before throwing the door to Nami's bedroom open.

She was about to speak but stopped when she saw sarah sitting on Nami's bed flipping through a magazine.

"Sarah, hey," Avery smiled and Sarah grinned and got out of the bed to run over and hug Avery.

Avery wasn't much of a hugger if it was with close loved ones.

"Oh man, I haven't seen you since Santa Monica," sarah pulled away and Avery nodded.

"Where's Nami?" Avery asked. "Sorry, I'm in a time crunch and I have seven minutes to talk to her before going back to work."

"Oh, right," sarah shook her head. "Uh, Nami is in your closet looking for something to wear for her date with Joshua tonight."

"It's not a date," Avery corrected and Sarah gasped.

"That's what Nami keeps saying," she said and Avery nodded.
