Avery walked into work with a smile on her face.

Finn, who was updating the chalkboard with the dinner specials turned around and he was taken back by her grin.

"Beautiful," he greeted with his own smile and Avery's grin widened.

"Hi, Handsome," she greeted before walking away to change into her work clothes and Finn smiled to himself and continued his work.

Avery quickly changed into her work uniform and grabbed her apron before going to the kitchen to get herself a cup of coffee.

In the kitchen Ian was making his own cup of coffee with Annabelle in his arms and Avery grinned and the sight of the little girl.

"Anna!" Avery called and Annabelle quickly turned around and her own face lit up. Ian turned around and who called out to his daughter and once he saw it was Avery, he quickly placed Annabelle down to go to Avery.

Avery quickly picked Anna up and wrapped her in a hug.

"Oh my goodness I've missed you!" Avery said and Anna giggled.

"I missed you too!" She said and Avery grinned at her.

"Are you ready to start school?" Avery asked and Anna nodded.

"Next week I get to go to preschool!"

"I'll bet you'll be the smartest girl in your class," Avery said before placing her down.

"Hey, Ian," Avery smiled and Ian shook his head with a smile of his own.

"I await the day you greet to me with as much excitement as you do my daughter." He teased and Avery laughed before grabbing a mug for coffee.

"Don't think I won't," Avery smiled before smiling down at Annabelle.

"Did you get taller?" Avery asked and Anna shrugged.

"Maybe,"

"Maybe," Avery repeated, teasing Anna.

"How's it been here crowd-wise today?" Avery asked Ian and he moved his hands in a so-so manner.

"Not too bad, but dinner is going to be pretty busy. We have three birthday parties." He warned.

Avery hated serving big groups like that. But for some reason, nothing could bring her mood down today.

"Oh fun, there's always cake after those," she replied to Ian's surprise.

Annabelle tugged on Ian and he glanced down at her for a brief moment before looking up at Avery again.

"Thought you hated serving parties?" Ian asked as Annabelle tugged on his pant leg again. This time he crouched down to Annabelle.

"Guess today I'm in a good mood," Avery shrugged with a wide smile.

"Yes, Anna?" Ian asked his daughter and Avery took that time to sip her coffee. Anna whispered something to Ian and he smiled wide before shrugging.

"You'll have to ask her yourself," Ian replied and Annabelle grinned before turning to Avery.

Anna paused for a moment before turning to her dad and whispering something else. Ian nodded as she spoke before smiling at Annabelle.

"That sounds really good, Belle." Ian affirmed and Annabelle turned to Avery with a serious look on her face.

"Will you  come to the carnival with me and my dad tomorrow?" Annabelle asked in a full sentence and Avery's eyebrows shot up in surprise.
