You walked down the isle, you could see your future husband standing directly in front of you. He gazed at you like you were the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.
You stood in awe of the situation as the wedding continued. "Do you Y/N Y/L/N take James Buchanan Barnes to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do,"
"And do you, James Buchanan Barnes take Y/N Y/L/N to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I-..."
He was cut off by a deafening explosion. Rubble flew everywhere and blasted both of you backwards. With your ears still ringing and pain throbbing through your limbs you stood up and began searching for Bucky. You scared for him but no response came. You finally found him laying still, you crouched down beside him.
"Bucky?" You whispered, tears welling in your eyes. You cried out as the other Avengers who were attending the wedding approached. You gripped his lifeless hand, tears flowing almost violently. You'd never been in so much agony. Not even from the scrapes and bruises that covered you but the pure ache in your soul.
You saw your fiancé get tossed across the venue like a rag-doll. His life was gone, yet yours was still here.
