Music played softly through your headphones as you wrote on the continuous stream of papers, your hand cramping occasionally from the repeating action. You were in the zone, ignoring the throbbing pain that would sometimes find itself in your hand.

You were brought abruptly out of your thoughts when the music stopped playing, and the book you were writing on gone. Instead, standing before you was your best friend, Peter. You pulled a headphone out, looking at him grumpily.

"Pay attention to me! You're studying too much." He groaned, scrunching his fists like a small child. You laughed slightly, shaking your head as you reached for the book Peter had placed on the floor.

"I need to do this, P. I want to go to a good college." You assured him, placing the earphone back into your ear. As you were about to open the book again, you felt hands come around your sides.

You were just able to pull your earphones out of your ears as you were lifted up suddenly, thrown over your best friend's shoulder. "Peter!" You squealed, kicking about. Peter laid you down on the couch, hovering above you for a few seconds.

"You need a break." He smiled, tapping you on the nose before sitting down next to your body. You lifted your legs so he could sit, resting them over his.

"What if I didn't want one?" You teased, grabbing a pillow and placing it under your head. Peter absentmindedly played with the cuffs of your jeans as he replied, smiling widely,

"Well... you get one anyway. You deserve it, love." He continued playing with your jeans as you laid there laughing for a few seconds, holding your hand over your mouth in an attempt to stop it. Peter shuffled uncomfortably while you were laughing, your legs still on his lap. "What?" He asked worriedly, fixing his hair.

"You called me Love... what are we, a married couple?" You giggled, your laughter dying down slightly.

"Well, I wouldn't mind it." He mumbled, looking down at his phone. You froze, removing your legs from his lap. You moved closer to him, so your shoulders were nearly touching.

"Peter..." you began, resting a hand on his leg. You saw as he gazed down at it, his eyes then going back up to you. "I don't think I would mind it either." You whispered, putting your head on his shoulder. You felt as he put his hand on yours, intwining them together.

"Good." He replied, snuggling into you more.
