You Give Me Fever || Michael Jackson

Final note

Guys ... I'm missing the story already. You Give Me Fever was a big part of me; it's one of my prized possessions, story-wise. Seeing it end has made me sad – hell, I've even cried because of the ending being so sad. (This note isn't me bragging about my work, sorry).

But anyway, there are a couple things I want to tell you:

1. The sequel is now up for you to read. It is titled "Temperature's Rising", after the lyrics from "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough". (Had to make the sequel a song lyric too, right? And "temperature" has doctory connotations. 😉) And it's set in Invincible era, because I just don't see any stories in that era!

2. The response from this story has been overwhelming. When I published chapter one on January 26, 2015, I never expected to get where I am today. So I want to say ... thank you so much, readers, voters, commenters; without you I wouldn't have gotten it to where it is today.

I honestly wish I could thank each individual reader in turn, but it would take me a while. So, I want to say it to all of you.

3. I'm sorry if the ending of the story was what you didn't want. I've read so many comments saying "Let her live" and "I hope there's a miracle to keep her alive", but in all honesty? It wouldn't happen once she's been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I've been aiming to keep it all as realistic as possible, so having a miracle wouldn't be realistic. I'm sorry. :'(

Also, I know the last fifteen chapters of the story were based entirely around Becky and her cancer. That's because cancer – once someone has it – becomes a large part of their life. It isn't their entire life, but it makes up a lot of it. It would have been unrealistic for me to write fifteen chapters with Becky completely normal and happy, and I wanted to keep it real.

I'm sorry if that was boring or inconvenient to read.

4. It still overwhelms me that this story is over. It's the longest-running story I've ever done. You're probably bored of me saying it, but I never wanted it to end! It's been an adventure for me. ❤️
