How long were we staying in LA?
I don't know. Nobody knows.
Okay, that's a lie, I know, and this is our last week.
We has two special guests this week, Sarah Reason's (from the Select Team, and whose birthday was this Friday) and Brynn Rumfalo.
Originally this mattered to me, until I was asked to guest star on a Disney show, Jessie. Maddie was gonna be on Disney this week too, except she was in Austin and Ally.
So while I was working, my little sister was "upholding the family name" as Miss Abby called it.
CHELSEAS POV
My sister has yet another acting job this week. And to make matters so so so so much worse, Miss Abby gave me a big old "I'm counting on you speech at pyramid". The pyramid my sister was on top of.
This weekend we had two group dances, 2 duets, and one solo, for me. Unfortunately, Miss Abby still thinks that I'm a baby, which means I'm not in any of the groups.
I'm like, almost 7. Thats pretty dang old if you ask me. When Alyce was 7, she got to do tons of dances, mostly groups. Every week.
I couldn't wait till I was a junior, but by then, all these girls will be dancing in the teen division. What I needed was my own team of minis. That would be fantastic.
In honor of Alyce, I was doing one of her old old old solos. Pre show.
It was jazz, duh, and called "Hit The Road."
The day after I learned the dance was arguably the most important day in my life so far.
Today we were auditioning to be in a MattyBRaps music video.
Like, holy cow right?
The audition process was 1 part improv for these guys, and then one part singing.
I caught on that the best choice of inprov would be jazzy hip hop. Don't do tricks, or turns, and stay with the music.
During my dance audition, these guys brought out a boy (!!!) and made me dance around him. Then they brought Houten Kenzie, then Jojo, then had all three of us dance by him together.
I think Jojo did the best dancing, but considering Mackenzies improv past, she definitely stepped out of her comfort zone.
Then, we had to sing. I wasn't sure how much of a singer I was. I wasn't as good as my sister, she was awesome, but I wasn't completely tone deaf, which was something Alyce would say.
"I just wanna dance, turn up the track and par-tay, let me see your hands, turn up the track, turn turn up the track," I sang, applying what I've heard Alyce's old vocal coach say. Annouciate the words, stick to the rhythm.
The best singer was probably Kendall if I'm being honest. And she did great with the dancing. But- I heard those weird guys say she was too tall for MattyB.
Now I was really super nervous I might be too short. Or too young. How old was that kid?
Eleven. He was the same age as my sister.
Yea, okay. It would be weird for me to get the role. I knew if Alyce was here she would 100% get it.
It was the day after, and we were gonna shoot the music video. Also Maddie is here, but Alyce still isn't. She said she was gonna be at the competition though. She promised not to miss my solo.
Then, the guy, the guy in charge, started talking about who he chose for the lead.
"Our leading girl is going to be..."
