Neteyam

The boy started to wake, not feeling so warm anymore other then his shoulders, and his forehead. He stirred, trying to open his eyes as a soft touch soothed his cheek, "It's okay.... don't rush yourself." He knew that voice from anywhere, Kireyi. His eyes finally opened, meeting another set that peered at him, "How do you feel?"

Neteyam tried to sit up, but the girl wouldn't allow him, keeping him rested on what he figured out to be her lap, the warmth on his forehead a small rag. If he were to be honest, he hadn't felt that bad, other than slight stinging from his biggest cuts, "I am alright."

"Are you sure? You passed out Ma Teyam...."

His eyes scanned the familiar tent, no one was here, "I did?"

"Yes, you lost a lot of blood, your mother and siblings are handling the situation with Tsahik and Olo'eyktan as we speak," Neteyam nodded, eyes meeting Kireyi's again. Her hand continued to rub his hair and cheek, the other hand flush against his chest, rubbing in a back and forth line.

"Did I get Zeuke good at least?" He cocked a brow, and Kireyi lightly smiled.

"Hm I think so. Did Lo'ak and I get Hafyae pretty good?"

"Hm I think so too," He began to laugh at the situation, but his head wasn't fond of that, harsh throbbing ringing through his forehead and temples. The boy softly winced, turning just a little on Kireyi's lap to nuzzle his head into her stomach, "Now it hurts," He mumbled against her skin.

"I know, they should be back soon to get you more ointment. I would but I.... I have never worked with forest medicines, Tsahik still needs to show me."

"It's alright," The sound was barely audible as he was speaking into her stomach, and she giggled a little at Neteyam. He hadn't cared, moving his free hand to glide over her waist.

"I am sorry about them Ma Reyi.... you didn't deserve their harsh words," He couldn't believe how far the two had gone, the two boys had never done that type of stuff in front of others, and their words never tried to cut as sharp as they did today.

"It is okay."

"No. It is not. They are assholes," Kireyi laughed again.

"What is an asshole?" Like always, the girl's accent came out when she spoke English to the boy, and he chuckled softly.

"Another bad word, nothing too special," Kireyi groaned at the response.

"But what does it mean?"

"Hmm, perhaps you should ask Lo'ak," He chuckled once more, nuzzling even closer to Kireyi. A comfortable silence filled the air, "Ma Reyi?"

"Yes Ma Teyam?"

"You know you are not a freak right? That I do not think that of you?" His forehead and nose were flush against her stomach, yet he still didn't feel close enough, he felt horrible for words he never even said.

"Yes I do know that," Though her response was short, it was so reassuring and sweet.

"Good, I wouldn't change a thing these past few months with you," He sighed in contentment as Kireyi's hands raked through his hair, fully losing himself in the girl's comforting touch.

"You know you are nothing less right? You leaving was not your choice, and you are most definitely not a freak."

"Hm," Kireyi giggled as his hum tickled her stomach, "I will simply believe anything you tell me Ma Reyi. Anything."

"But do you believe it?" He melted at her voice- her touch. How could he not believe it when she was the one telling him?

"Yes," He felt his eyes get heavy at the warmth from Kireyi, "Kireyi?"
