Kireyi

The family got a rest day before starting training, and the children immediately sought out their forest, climbing and scavenging through the greenery, "Come on!" Lo'ak shouted.

The Metkayina struggled more than the Omatikaya, not used to needing to climb and weave their way through the trees and vines so quickly. They kept up, but it was inevitable that they fell behind here and there. Neteyam and Kiri stayed closer to the group, as Tuk was with them too. The young girl showed them every plant possible, explaining it all in great detail. Lo'ak and Spider continued in the front, climbing and rough-housing nonstop, though with how the other's were taking their time, the two boys finally slowed.

Neteyam stuck close to Kireyi and Tuk, making sure the two were alright. A free space of trees and other big plants held a circular spot of long grass, almost to the Na'vi's knees. Neteyam watched as Kiri sprawled out along the grass, reveling in the feeling again. Kireyi joined the girl, laying beside her, "It feels nice," The Metkayina girl said in awe.

"I know!" Kiri giggled as the two laid there. They slowly dozed off under the cool breeze, the weather so different compared to the island's. The ground under Kireyi started to rumble, almost like a heart beat. She sat up looking to Kiri, noticing how the grass swayed in harmony with the beating feeling. Kiri was in a soft rest, and the girl looked to Neteyam in confusion.

He quietly raised his finger to his mouth, hushing her, he motioned for the girl to come sit near him. She leaned her back against his leg, as he sat higher than her on a fallen branch. Tuk moved to where Kireyi was earlier, snuggling close to Kiri, "What is it?"

"Kiri can connect to her surroundings, this isn't anything new," His voice was quiet, to not wake the girl.

"Is this what she was talking about? Her feeling Eywa?" Kireyi remembered one of their first conversations, how Kiri could feel Eywa, her breath- her heartbeat.

"Hm, it's amazing isn't it?"

Kireyi's head leaned against Neteyam's knee, letting out a drawn out sigh, "I could feel her too when I laid near Kiri.... it was so-" She thought for a moment. No words to describe the feeling, "I don't know."

"I know, we should let her rest some more though, I'm sure she's missed the feeling," Kireyi nodded against his knee, the two watching Kiri and Tuk rest together.

The forest had been so different than the islands, the sea. Kireyi basked in its beauty, its connectivity similar to what the ocean held. In the forest, everything was connected to something else, if you touched a leaf it was touching the whole tree. A piece of grass was the entire ground below you. The forest exuded power, unity, in a firm way compared to the open sea she had always known. Yet it was obvious it all came from Eywa, the great mother was everywhere, fueling the nature around them. Kireyi removed herself from Neteyam's leg, wishing to feel the grass fully below her body again. She too joined the girls once more, brushing her hands through the long grass, it was cooling, and felt like a soft pillow cushioning her from any harsh textures.

A small bug crawled onto the girls arm, bright yellow and orange wings contrasting it's surroundings. Kireyi held out her arm, admiring the creature as it made way to her fingers. It delicately balanced along her slim fingers, all the way to the very tip of them, settling on the pad of her index finger. She brought her hand close to her face, examining the patterns that had been naturally drawn onto the insects wings. The girl's bright blue eyes had looked so different from the color of the bug, her eyes big- focused on the colored wings. The insects legs made way to the tip of her nose, her finger so close it was an easy passing over, and she giggled at the touch, the feeling ticklish. Her laugh must've startled the bug, as it fluttered away, circling the around the three girls a few times before fully leaving.
