Although you had known Natasha for years, you had only started dating a year ago. Your first Christmas together was nothing special as you had only been together for a few months, but this time the two of you were treating it as your official first Christmas as a real couple.

You had woken up early Christmas morning with enough time to spend the morning together before heading out to have Christmas dinner with Clint and his family as Natasha had been doing for years prior. The two of headed straight downstairs in your shared home to the comfortable sofa by the side of the freshly lit fire to keep you both warm from the bitter coldness of the winter morning.

Together you snuggled up close under a large tartan blanket as you tried your best to fight the tiredness that you both felt from the few hours of sleep, you'd been able to get after the Christmas Eve party the night before. You stayed there for a moment to warm up and wake up before you would continue on with the plans for the festivities of the day.

"Are you ready for presents?" You questioned. "Then you can pick up the paper and I'll start breakfast. We can then get washed and dressed and head to Clint's with those five sacks of presents that you've considered suitable to give to three children."

Natasha shot you an unimpressed look. You knew well enough that she had a strong maternal instinct and took that onto being the best aunt she possibly could to Clint's three children and one of the ways she did that was spoiling them rotten.

You grabbed the couple of presents that were still around the tree since you bagged up all the presents for other people the night before. You handed the two wrapped gifts to Natasha that you had gotten for her and kept hold of the one from her. As you sat down, you went to start to unwrap it, but Natasha grabbed your hand, stopping you.

"I'm sorry if you don't like the present," she stated. "I was pretty sure you would like it but now I don't know as it isn't much and I honestly don't know if it is something that you will like."

You gave her a warm smiled, giving her hand a tight squeeze.

"I'm sure that I am going to love it."

With a pause, you waited for Natasha to nod her head to let you continue opening it. Under the wrapping paper was a small jewellery box with a golden locket inside of it with a picture of the two of you inside of it.

"I love it, Natasha," you smiled warmly.
