It's been about five days since you last saw the news report. It's been about three days since you last saw Dean. All he ever does is spend his time trying to fix the car. You've given him his space, but now it's time to regroup and figure out what the hell you're going to do about this.

After you put Joanna to bed, you head outside with the baby monitor in your hand. If anything were to enter her room, you'd know about it. Your dad is asleep, and you figure he could use the rest. If you figure out a solid plan, then you'll wake him. You head out back where the brothers are. Dean is underneath the hood, Sam is leaning against the car, and the radio is right next to them to inform them of any news.

"Believed to be target hits high up in white-supremacy organizations, the FBI now believes the Ku Klux Klan has been forced to disband," the radio announcer states.

"Can't argue with that one," Dean scoffs.

"In other news, a freak lightning strike on the heels of the fire that burned down the Center for Vibrational Enlightenment earlier today. Said a spokesman, 'This tragedy represents the largest loss in New Age motivational speaker history'."

"Motivational speakers?" you state, making your presence known.

"Yeah, I'm not sure new Cas gets irony any better than old Cas. Of course, old Cas wouldn't smite Madison Square Garden just to prove a point. He is off the deep end of the deep end. There's no slowing down," Dean sighs and pulls away from the car to look at you. "Where's Joanna?"

"Sleeping," you say and hold up the baby monitor.

"So, what? Try to talk to him again?" Sam suggests.

"Sam," the older brother sighs.

"Dean, all we can do is talk to the guy at this point," you back Sam up.

"He's not a guy. He's God, and he's pissed. When God gets righteous, you get the hell out of the way; haven't you read the Bible?"

"I guess..."

"Cas is never coming back. He's lied to us, he used us, and he cracked your gourd like it was nothing. No more talk; we have spent enough on him."

"Okay," you nod.

"Hand me that socket wrench," Dean orders.

Sam's the one to hand it to him, and even in the darkness, you can tell how tired he is.

"Sam, why don't you get some rest, okay? I can do this."

"Yeah, good idea."

Sam leaves, and you take his place next to the car. You place the baby monitor on top of the car, and you rest your back against the side of it.

"Castiel is not hopeless. He's just confused, and he's being manipulated. Don't you think that if it were you, he'd stop at nothing to get you back?"

"Yeah, but he's hopped up on souls, Y/N–millions of them, and they aren't even human souls. Not even you can fix that."

"That may be, but we owe it to him to at least try. If he wanted us dead, then we would be."

"Yeah," Dean grumbles, but it's clear he isn't paying attention to you.

"Come here."

"What?" he sighs.

"Come over here."

He drops whatever he is holding and moves to stand right in front of you. You wrap your arms around his neck, and his hands immediately go to your hips.

"I know it feels like you can't get a grasp on anything right now but know I'm here to take the load off your shoulders. It's what married couples do."
